Traffic light GP in a FWD car- whats your technique

Matt82 said:
dont you want it put in another thread then? then im sure you can say where/how i was in the wrong

Do you think the police would have pulled you over if they had seen you driving at the time?

my technique is, dont buy a car with tc.

saxo, 1st, ~3500rpm, drag the clutch quickly-ish
that reminds me, i think i need a new one, starting to get a bit juddery

this should be another thread really as we are miles off topic.

as for the police's views, well i was simply following another driver closely, as millions of completely oblivious drivers out there do from day to day.

have you ever known someone to be pulled over for following someone too closely? if so, any ideas what they were charged with?

and what did i do wrong? lol i wasnt speeding (surely that makes me an angel in the eyes of the law).

i drove a bit closely to this guy, whilst under the speed limit, so tell me where i went wrong? like has been said, many brainless lemmings do this day in day out, and it bugs the hell out of me and on this occassion id decided not to just pull over and let them past... maybe it was time for someone to show them the errors of their ways. it annoys the hell out of me, but im sure this oblivious plum saw how annoying it is on this occassion

where abouts in the country do you live, and what do you drive? Not aiming for any keyboard warrior stuff, just want to know what to look out for so I can avoid you.

Yes.

Either Driving without Due Care and Attention or Dangerous Driving. And had the plum you forced to go faster hit something, hard, you might want to add Causing Death by Dangerous Driving..

in which case, it may have taught him something, so as judge/jury/executioner/correctional facility, it may have done the trick in showing him that driving like a 'plum' isnt the done thing. in short, he was put in his place and 'fingers crossed' he may learn from it and then not drive like such a mindless lemming.

in short, i may have done everyone a favour, including him.

You just don't get it, you just don't get it. - To quote some crap film or other....

and whats wrong with that given that we all know there are countless drivers out there everyday who habitually drive stupidly close to the car in front, as a matter of course or habit?

the only difference was that that day it had annoyed me more than usual (and he had a talent deficit lol)

well until the coppers out there start to do something about the countless other cars driving far to close to the car ahead.... i really cant see myself getting in trouble if i did the same thing again lol

All it takes is one slip....... then again, with your Jedi like reflexes, immeasurable driving talent, and ability to defy the laws of physics, I'm sure you'll be fine. Not so sure if the next guy you run off the road will be as lucky though.....

well what can be done, who hasnt suffered from a little red mist? (im sure a mod will see red mist with the mess ive made of this thread and ban me for a while too..)

would be funny to see if the other guy has continued his silly tailgating antics since? (id bet money that he has).

in short, if he doesnt want to put up with the consequences, then i suggest he shouldnt drive like that in the first place.

the number of times ive seen such plums on the motorway inches from the rear of a fiesta driven by a student, it intimidates a lot of people and i cant think of anyone who likes having someone 2 inches from their rear bumper.

but in reality, nothing is going to change, there will be people who drive like that day in day out and then there will be people who see the red mist from time to time also

You aren't judge, jury and executioner. Who are you to dish out 'consequences'? And are you prepared to deal with the possible consequences of your driving? I'm not wishing any misfortune on you, far from it, just suggesting that you may want to consider the possible consequences of your own actions. If someone's tailgating you, ignore them. If you have to stop in a hurry and they can't, then they are the ones at fault. Yes, it's annoying, but going all Mad Max on them doesn't solve anything, and makes you as bad.

For god's sake Matt, shut up. This is the second time of asking, there won't be a third.

[edit]In fact, as you knew you were doing wrong (see the red mist post) have a bit of time off :)
