Train Simulator 2021 Upgrades?

@bilirubin

11400f and b560 msi pro vdh wifi would cost around £240 that would be a decent upgrade.

How much you got to spend ?

Not really set myself a budget Mick however I am trying to keep it sensible as I don't think Train Simulator warrants all the top end specs and I have no intention of getting into the more modern games. The £240.00 you mention is doable as is the recommendation that Jigger made above.

The 11400f performance is on par with the 5600x for £100 lees , theres no point getting the 5600g which has intergrated graphics as you have the 970.

£240 is about what you pay for a 5600x .

Read some reviews on the 11400f.

Thanks for pointing me in the direction of the CPU and MB Mick, been looking at the reviews on both today and they complement each other and are well priced. Might pull the trigger on them both next week and complete the upgrade.

Much appreciated

Your welcome .

Do you have windows 10 ?

If not you can download Windows 10 installer and put it on a usb drive to instsller. Windows 10 keys can be had online for £10.

If that 250Gb SSD is your only drive it's far too small. I would keep that and maybe stick your OS on it and have a seperate drive for Steam, something like a 1Tb+ NVME drive would be good. Once you get buying a few add-ons for TS2022 it will eat HDD space it very quickly, my TS2022 install is already at 881Gb and that's without any other games I have installed. Black Friday is at the end of the month so you should be able to pick up some good deals on storage and probably cpu's and motherboards too so hang on before buying those.

Hi Pasty, thanks for the input and yes it’s something I have been considering. It’s not been top of my list as I don’t seem to be suffering at the moment though but as you say once my new rig is fully functional and I start buying add ons I will be struggling.
