Transformers ! :D

Gonna ahve to go see it again as its absolutely brilliant. Dare i say i actually enjoyed it more than die hard.

Didnt quite understand what was going on at first as i didnt like the cartoons etc as a kid, but the film is one of the best ive seen in ages, if not the best ive seen in ages.

I loved all the little quotes. "can i ride you home, hang on, no, can i give you a ride home" :D

Die hard had some funny little one liners in it, but they were a lot better in this.

The mustang police car was just sex on wheels, as was the camaro(s).

Cant wait for this to be released, hope it appears on blu ray.

Me and a few friends went to see this on saturday and I have to say ITS THE BEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN I was thrilled this is one film which diserves to be bought on dvd TBH!

Just got back from the midnight showing -
Flipping amazing film is all I can say!! :D this is one big summer blockbuster that had all the hype behind it and did not fail to deliver for once.
Surprisingly funny in points too!! Specially when in the back yard lol

GO AND SEE IT!!

Nice action film, nice women, good voice acting (Peter Cullen \m/) and a decent length flick.

Apart from the overly complex robots (should have kept it closer to the original cartoons) it was a good film.. excellent computer generated effects! :)

Give it a solid 8.5/10

Went and caught a preview showing last night.

Just like most other 30-somethings I love Transformers and have been waiting for this for a long time, and just.......WOW!!

I'd say it was definately one of the best action films I've ever seen. I loved Die Hard 4.0 but this was loads better IMO.

Although it was a badass action film from beginning to end, it didn't take itself too seriously. All the bots had personalities and there are some genuinely funny moments, but it was never 'silly' tongue-in-cheek, with the feel/tone going from light-hearted to serious when it needs too.

But above all the action was just amazingly well directed, a complete adrenaline rush from beginning to end. I found myself grinning like an idiot, it made me feel like a 10-year-old.

10/10 from me  :D

I was exactly the same when I saw it last night. The whole cinema were loving it too, which added to the atmosphere.

I am glad Bay took it in the direction he did, utilised the complex models for the bots and intertwined the humans with Transformers into the whole film. There was just enough plot to make the film enjoyable, without complex details, character development and backstory ruining the sheer action and entertainment.

Avoiding what some films, such as Starwars Episode 1/2 managed to do in creating long boring character/plot development sections.

I couldn't see many, if any other directors managing to get, what was a pretty poorly represented franchise with shockingly bad and cheesy cartoons and dialogues released over the last 25 years into such an awesome action packed, fun film that was totally watchable by all types of people.

I am also extremely glad that he moved away from the human in a suit look that the transformers have had for so long.

Having followed the opinions and reviews from the fans on the Transformer sites and forums very closely over the last couple of years, the whole, “it’s a shame Bay directed it” and “they don’t look like Transformers” movement has grown very tiresome and in my opinion doesn’t really wash.

But objectively, I can’t remember going to watch a film that provided such great entertainment or wow-ness since seeing The Matrix.

Transformers is not a film with a deep, lengthy, complex plot, or one that will make you ball your eyes out with empathy and sadness, but it is probably one of the best fun action films I have seen. 10/10 :D

/goes off today to buy some of the movie toys ;)

Yeah i saw this last night, it really is so good, miles better than die hard. For a fun an action packed film, this is what it's all about. Personally i think the ppl that liked die hard better are the people that prefer realism to fantasy, unless it's shrek -ish.

Starscream is the only decepticon we know that is alive, at the end of the credits he flies out of earths atmosphere back to cybertron, hopefully to get some decent decepticons for the next movie.

Barricade is still alive, since he sort of vanished before the final fight, which is just aswell coz that police issue saleen mustang is so hot!

They need Prowl for the next movie, also as a police car! wouldn't mind if Jetfire, Blur and Ultra Magnus were there too actually.

That's exactly how I've explained it to everyone I've talked to about it :D

Definitely going to to again.

I love the fact that they gave their transformations a level of complexity and it just looked cool. Therefore I wanna see e.g. the constructocons and aerial bots ;)

Blur would be cool, would need to be some kind of exotic supercar though :)

Can't see any of the preview screenings this weekend so have to wait, gutted :(

Saw this yesterday and tbh wasn't expecting much but that was one hell of a movie, been a long long time since I've enjoyed a film so much. When I was young the Transformers cartoons were coming to an end so I never did get to see them as much as I wanted but still could remember bit and bogs.

Really do reccomend this film to everyone, go there with an open mind and you should have a blast! The action was pretty good and the comedy parts weren't cheesy but actually made you smile.

Went to see this last night with Zefan, and well all i can say is that its completely raised the bar for action movies.

NOTHING has come close to the exhileration in this movie, the CGI is absolutely insane, i just could nope smiling and even giggling like a school girl at how good it was. Its just made me think, they're gonna have to make the Halo film something really special!

Truly the film of the year, by a loooooong way. Die Hard 4.0, was ok, but not great. 300 had awesome action, but nothing quite as spectacular as Transformers. Truly an awesome film, i would say it is th ebest action film to date, before that I'd say FF7:AC was top dog.

Can't really be bothered to type much on it, but you get the point. See this film, it absolutely rocks.

The robots made me wide eyed with awe. My jaw hit the floor and I felt like a 10 year old kid again. I loved it. Defineatly worth a 2nd look!

wow, i thought this was going to be crap considering its a michael bay film an all, but i may have to go and watch it, i have to admit the special effects look better than anything ever seen in film so far.

Are reviewers at rotten tomatoes just Michael Bay haters? I know they hated bad boys 2 as well but that was an awesome film.

http://uk.rottentomatoes.com/m/transformers_the_movie/

Yep, I think they are. Aside from some hardcore fans of Transformers, for which the movie can do no right and the people who seem to hate Bay's work, I am yet to read a poor review of this.

I don't get the hating Bay thing either, he has directed 7 movies, all of which have been great action films imo. Even the Island which flopped, I thought was good.

And yer Bad Boys 2 is great and watchable again and again.

Transformers has to be the 1st film which has made me seriously consider upgrading to a HD tv and player for its HD release.

I think the resident critics at rotten tomatoes are ones who do not take movies for what they're supposed to be, but instead want toned down, forfilling and possibly educational films, and they're possibly all 60+.

Ok first of all; it's transformers, how anybody goes in expecting something realistic has got to be pretty stubborn to start with.

2nd: It's noisey? the mechs are huge metallic beasts with plasma/laser guns coupled with shells and missiles to take each other out, how are they supposed to go about it quietly?

3rd: plot issue..... hmmmm let's see, aliens come to invade the planet whilst in search of the allspark in order to enslave the universe. Plot? are you serious? what on earth were you expecting? a decepticon with a deep personality complex that takes him on a coming of age journey to becoming a real boy whilst finding redemption for his sins?

It's a fantasy ppl! transformers don't exist! jeez.

And yeah i want the toys too, was thinking deluxe class bumblebee and barricade, plus leader class mega and prime.
