Transformers ! :D

To be perfectly honest, I was really worried that it would be a shambles (namely down to who was directing it...Bay has always been more miss than hit)
PS: Grimlock demands future inclusion!

I never get that, he directed 7 films and 6 have been pretty awesome imo but depends if you like that style of film ;)

Grimlock has to be in there I agree.

I guess in the sequel, they will have a bigger budget, they only had $150m and the CGI work isn't cheap. Which will mean more transformers, probably more dialogue and since the human character development has been done more action.

What I don’t want to see is loads of boring Transformer character development like in the cartoons as this sucked big time, but flashbacks like they did with Terminator would be cool.

Its only really the harder-core fans calling for a fair bit of Transformer character development (mainly Decepticons), there is room for a small amount but I would not like to see that at the sacrifice of action.

It’s not even necessary; you get the gist that they are maniacal machines bent on destruction. Do they even need to bother with drawn out conversations?

I am off to see it agin this afternoon. :D

Just been to see it for a 3rd time with some other mates and it still gives me the same good feeling as it did the first time I saw it.

Ive just watched the original movie (abit with the commentry) and its just as cheesy if not more so than this one but its still good.

I really really whished they would have had the touch in there though that is a great song and will always remind me of my childhood watching transformers while playing with mine in the front room.

I thought the CGI was really good but that's come to be expected nowadays.

The whole concept is cool and the bits with the transformers in were really good but...

It was spliced by plenty of tedious boring dialogue scenes that seemed to drag the whole thing down. The bit in the house searching for something was good to start with but quickely grew annoying.

The film should have been fun and shameless but it ended up bit boring film with fun action sequences.

PS. I've just looked Michael Bay up on IMDB and the only good film he has directed is "The Rock". With maybe a mention for Bad Boys and Armageddon for being above average.

Slight deviation....did anyone see the trailer for the new JJ Abrams film?

EDIT - Just put 2 & 2 together, wondered what all those 1-18-08 threads were about :o

I agree 100%

Anyone else find the little robot very annoying? Was almost as annoying as Jar Jar Binx. Why did he have to have that stupid persona/voice.

awesome special effects, although the UGC in Cardiff didn't do it justice (usually fine for all films, but you could tell the film was better than the screen :p )

was cringing at some of the quotes and moments in the film, like towards the end when the girl and boy almost kiss..

they've known each other one day and looks like they're married, lol

but the special effects were phantominal though, so was dead glad i saw it!, the desert scenes were amazing :)

good movie. great atmotphere.

DAMN HYPER ACTIVE CAMERA

those robots are awesome, but the fight scenes are naff, they camera flicks around so much you cant focus on what is going on. It's just a blur

On the plus sise, the script is very very funny and written for geeks.

I've seen this yesterday with the GF, i was really excited and have to say i wasnt let down at all.

The CGI was breathtaking, the film was amazing and i did find myself laughing a bit at how good it was.

Best movie i've seen this year by FAR!!

I wanted the Citroen car to make a cameo and get blasted by Optimus and Megatron :)

i enjoyed it as a film, nothing spectacular though

omfg ive just seen this film with a friend and i feel its the best film ive ever seen!!!

Seriously. You need to see more movies.

I thought it was absolutely pants. 2/10 and all of that was for the first 30 minutes and breasts.

Wasnt as happy watching this as i thought i would be. Effects amazing, story amazing, cast appauling.
That sector 7 guy was a plank, that black guy who made the computer do morse code, ridiculous and annoying. Optimus Prime wasnt nearly as cool as he should have been, :( and no where near enough of the transforming noise, the sound like makes your spine shiver. :(

And the Autobots seemed a bit girly in the garden bit, how many film do we have to see where the parents are oblivious to the most obvious of things. I feel this film was designed for a generation that didnt watch the Transformers.

Transformers living on earth, poor, its such a hollywood setup for cashcow #2
Id say this is a film that relied to heavily on effects. Effects that like many of the recent cinema releases, shoves digital heaven down your retinas so quickly you cant tell whether your coming or going. I cant see well at the best of times but at about 300fps my brain just shuts down to detail, i cant appreciate it.

Trailer 10/10
Movie 5/10

Saw the film this morning, thoughly enjoyable action fest :)

Few bits were a little too over the top cheesy but on the whole probably one of the best films I've seen at the cinema this year, which probably doesn't say a lot for everything else I've been to see...

ChroniC, the compuer nerd who did the morse thing, he's annoying as hell in everything I've ever seen him in.

Saw this last night. Amazing film, best effects I've seen in a film. Brilliant and well worth the watch. Noticed the cast didn't have big stars but megan fox what a hottie haha.

Great film though, good story as well.

I watched this last night. The build up and first half hour was entertaining. The later parts were Visual Ecstacy, I just wished someone could have told Michael Bay to Hey Zoom Out A Little !!!

My biggest gripe were characterless Transformers. We didn't know hardly anything about them. Starscream should be annoying and irritating for one. Everything was just so close up.

Still a top action movie that will showcase the HD formats.
