Transformers ! :D

Absolutely insane film

Best special effects, especially the panning shots in the desert, looked surreal.

Poor close ups of the action bits which was a bit annoying. The last half hour was non-stop pretty much. This definately beats Die hard 4 easily.

The storyline was "de-geeked" for "normals" but that is to be expected for a big budget film, they need to get there money back after all. It certainly didn't detract from the enjoyment.

Sure it wasn't a "deep" movie but then it was fighting robots, what do you expect frankly?

I found it great, but annoyed by the typical American Government being the all-seeing-eye again, just like in Independence Day. Sometimes I think the Americans are scared of ever portraying themselves in even the least ignorant light. They *always* have to be the only ones to know the truth. :p

The only other thing that confused me was the ending. They decided to drop the dead transformers to the bottom of the ocean to remove the evidence. As though it's one big cover up? How can it possibly be a ****ing cover up? There was a huge battle in the middle of a city for God's sake. Thousands of witnesses and thousands of pieces of broken transformers everywhere.

I don't think something like that could be covered up by CIA consipiracy tactics.

That battle was more eventful and destructive than 9/11, which I think you'll agree would be impossible to cover up. You can't brainwash a city full of people. The press publishing hundreds of pictures and videos of the battle. Eyewitnesses camera phone pictures and videos etc. :p

I know it's only a film, but that was a major hole for me, and I would have preferred the ending to be different. Such as the transformers being exposed but then swearing to protect Earth from further threats, and then to disappear into hiding. Having them covered up is grossly unrealistic, even for an American action film. :D

The action was truly great but I agree about the ending - it wouldn't be possible to cover it up, unless you went round and killed everyone who saw anything. Its a little point I know but just irks a bit at the end of the film.

Action was top notch but a little two fast at some points.
Story was average.
Sector 7 ruined it.
Dissapointed with Autobots. Hated the garden scene!
Overall it wasnt what I hoped it would be :(

Though we are still making the assumption they tried to cover it up - and if they did wouldnt they be after the Autobots? And the human 'heroes'?

I just think they left it open, not because they wanted to make intelligent people like us second guess the plot, but just totally forgot they had to write a vaguely decent ending...

As I said before, in these types of films especially with Bay directing its never wise to delve to deeply, otherwise youll hit your head ;)

The film said, the transformers remains were dumped in the so and so gulf in the ocean. The extreme depth and pressure would prevent the evidence from ever being found?

You don't go out of your way to destroy "evidence" if you aren't covering something up. Destroy the remains, sure, but calling them evidence infers they prove alien transformers came and did battle on Earth. I think there's already little doubt that happened. :p

SPOILERS

On Sunday I found myself travelling 70 miles to go and see this film, as I wasn’t going to watch it in my local matchbox cinema. After arriving, I collected my ticket, my popcorn and a mahoosive drink as I was in for the long haul and then proceeded to screen 1, the best one in the house with the largest screen, comfiest seats and premium sound system; this made me happy in itself.

I sat there watching adverts for what seemed like and age, I felt like taking a track up to the screening room and clouting them across the head and saying get on with it! ive been waiting months for this film.

Eventually, 30 minutes after the film was supposed to begin, we were greeted with a 5 minute clip of the original film. Oh this bought back some memories, I was tiny when I watch it but you can never forget the “noise” or prime’s voice. This got me right in the mood for what was about to come.

The film started, with the explanation of the all spark, and how the auto bots and deceptacons are fighting over it, already I found myself thinking, this is going to be brilliant! Then onto the start of the film, ive never found myself trying to close my jaw, physically within the first 10 minutes. I had a feeling of Goosebumps as the chopper was cruising over the desert; only because I knew what was about to come from the trailers “sir 4500x was shot down 5 months ago!” I was like a kid at Christmas.

The first 30 mins of the film was just jaw dropping, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing basically, the CGI was brilliant the story was set and tbh I didn’t find the acting that bad atal, we are watching a film about giant robots from space after all.

I found the part when barricade and bumble bee were fighting spine tingling too. Bay has thrown some brilliant tracks into the film into the right places, it just makes you smile when the tunes start, and you know you’re in for a treat.

I must admit, one thing that’s really wound me up was frenzy, although it was quite funny as some times, I think they overused the character, it got a pounding and just didn’t want to bugger off basically.

I think the new designs defiantly were an improvement, although we loved it as a kid, I think it would have looked proper naff is they had prime as some big block built flat fronted truck ! Loud cars, Lorries, vibrant paintwork and loud noises does it for me. As for the deceptacons they did a brilliant job in making them look evil basically, with barricade being a bad ass mustang cop car, with a roar on it louder that a freaking 747 ! Hah.

I don’t want to go on too much otherwise you’ll get bored of reading if not already ! but basically this film is amazing, totally exceeded my expectations. CGI was mind-blowing realistic and there’s plenty of noise and explosions to please any bloke ! You find yourself walking out of the cinema looking at cars waiting for them to transform into a big ass auto bot !

LOVED IT, best film this summer easily, and cant wait for a sequel. Btw ive seen this 3 times already.

GOOOOO WATCH IT!

Hah, hope I haven’t bored u lot to much !

Seriously? Great effects and action but the story sucked. They tried to appeal to too wide an age range IMHO.

Can anyone explain how the chopper at the beginning didnt get shot down befor it was able to land at the base

I know mate :)

I'm a huge fan. I still have most of the First Gen Transformers in original condition, boxed in the loft from when I was a kid.

I thought I'd not fallen for the hype but guess I must have because the film (to me) failed to deliver what I expected. Yes, it was action packed and the CGI was amazing but the whole package didnt 'do it' for me. I'm dissapointed as I really wanted it to blow me away :(

I liked it where Sam gives the girl a lift home and then the car conks out and she lifts the bonnet and neither of them query the brand new gleaming engine sat there, yet the rest of the car looks an absolute mess!

Loved the film though, was great.
