Just seen the movie myself earlier on this evening - thought it was really good, not seen an action movie as good as this for years. Special effects were stunning (as was the leading lady)

I thought it was decidedly average. Very good special effects and female lead, however.
Here's my little review of it...
Firstly let me say I was never a big transformers fan when I was younger, but transforming and robots is always cool. I loved the first 30 minutes or so of the film, the helicopter bot (dont know the name lol) attacking the airbase, the effects and the angles/perspective were spot on, it was atmospheric and set the scene very well. Same I thought of the second battle they had with the thing that was jumping around in the sand. The gunshots, planes and the bit where they finish it off with the big cannon, again very good, at this point the robots are still mysterious and menacing. Also the mystery around the bots and the sound effects used was well done.
However, as soon as the Autobots landed and started jumping around and talking the film lost all its atmosphere, especially the random and quirky personalities. It went downhill after that, this whole section 7 thing and the head of section 7 too (the one who gets peed on), he was trying too hard to be funny and for some reason his outfits throughout the film were completely whimsical and out of place.
Some of the transformers scenes (like where witwiki is looking for the glasses) were totally random and yawnsome.
I also found the love story to be complete and utter tosh.
The film picked up more towards the end with the battles, but this was ruined somewhat by that stupid girl driving around with one of them on a pickup truck... But some of the sequences were well done too.
In summary, some very good action, but some complete tosh story and characters.

I thought it was one of the best films I have seen and I'm a girl 
lol!
They even did the changing noise hurrah!
I was a bit wary about how they were going to get over the cheesieness of the whole talking robot thing but I thought it was BRILLIANT!!!
The special effects were amazing and so slick...and although I found myself thinking 'oh here we go again... fit blonde who can miraculously break codes/is a geek is going to save the planet' wasn't as bad as I thought it would be in the end
Megatron was fugly though but he is a baddie anyway so he's meant to be.

PS I didn't get the ending though...(or I missed something) did the kid use his brain and realise that Megatron was the same as OP and put the box thing into Megatron instead of OP or did he misjudge?

One thing they do need to do is send those guys out to iraq who 'lit up the targets' for the A10's and Raptors to bomb
They managed to blow up that robot in the desert and the one in the city without a hint of a civilian casualty

I remember one bit of civilian casualty. When megatron and prime fall from the building, megatron flicks that guy away like a bug. Was damn funny!

Ok, i know i am a bit late to the party but DAMN ! this movie rocks.
Yeah, it was full of Michael Bay cliche, from the camera angles, to the little dog, but hell i don't care. I love it.
Megan fox is fit, the robots ROCKED, it made me feel like I was 10 again. 144 minutes flew by in a blink of an eye, felt like 30 mins. Didn't look at my watch once, that is a sign of a good movie, to be able to hold my attention for that long. Ok, the geeky blonde was wayyyyyyy to pretty to be a system analysis in real life but who cares? I just want to DVD to come now so I can watch it again and again !

Wicked film - went to see it twice too! And I have a desktop wallpaper of *** vehicles too!! And I wasn't even a big fan of the cartoons.
