Hi everyone i'm Treefrogs daughter. joined so i could keep you all up to date with my dads recovery.

he is now able to have visitors, but only 2 at a time. he's awake and talking. he is doing better than they expected. which is very good. :)

he said thankyou for all your cards. he found the one with his picture on amusing.

if there are any questions about his recovery you would like to know i will answer them the best i can

all in all thanks peeps :)

That's great news! Thanks for getting in touch and letting us know. :) Give him a friendly punch from me (no where painful of course :p). :)

That's great Sam ! :D

Good to see you joined up Miss Tadpole! .. thanks so much for keeping us updated and if you need anything we're all here to help :)

Treefrog/dad is recovering nicely

His recovery is slow but he is getting there bit by bit. he is getting back to his grumpy self. He is mostly complaining about the food, but from what i have heard thats quite normal. :) They are slowly getting him back on his feet. The physiotherapist visits him every day. the good news is occasionally he is allowed off the bed to sit in a chair.

The frog card idea sounds good he will love that. :D

and as far as giving him a slap or a punch goes i would like to do that myself as well. how about when he is better we all have a go :D

I hope he will be able to ride a bike again, he gave me some good and sane advice in the Dieters thread, so I dedicate his sig as mine.

No apologies needed. There are people on here who don't have dyslexia and can barely bash out a coherent sentence :D

He is getting much better. physicaly

went to see dad today. told him you were all thinking of him and he was surprised. he wasn't expecting so many well wishing thoughts. don't know why. he said why do they care about me so much?

he is getting much better he seems more and more with it every time i see him. he is still having problems remembering things. he remembers people. but all his days run into one and he knows he is in hospital and that he is burnt, but he dosen't know how he got there. :(

does anyone know when his memory will get better?

glad to hear he's getting better... i presume his memory will come back over time?

He may never remember the actual incident. I was involved in a hit and run about 15 years ago, and I still can't remember what actually happened to this day. I remember leaving home (well, student halls), and I remember waking up in a wheelchair in hospital, but nothing in between.

As for the rest, time is the greatest healer for those sorts of injuries. Hopefully he should improve over time, but it might take a while. The brain doesn't heal - it adapts.

It may never. Massive electric shocks can cause permenant memory loss and can even be used as a conraversial cure to various psychological conditions. Usually not as massive as the one he has recieved.

My cousin got blown up in Spain about 3 months ago and suffered 66% burns and he's back home in Meir now. However, he is on a lot of morphine and I expect your Dad is too which doesn't help with memory. He's also on anti-depressants which he was put on as soon as he woke up so that doesn't help with memory either.

It was said that 'Treefrogs children didn't recognise him' - I assume his face was burnt badly but its no more than 2nd degree burns?

Whereabouts do you and your Dad come from in Stoke? - I'm in Blurton/Heron Cross.

Can I just apologise if I'm a little quiet on this front, at the moment. I've lost my internet access at home, which is making it difficult to get your audio messages and keep in contact with a few people.

How many messages do you currently have in the pot?
