Treefrog Card signing / get well soon wishes

I think the postcard idea is a fantastic one once he's well enough to be able to accept them etc. Would definitely join in with that once we're allowed :)

Post cards are just fine, but they cannot go to the hospital, thats all ;) Cards and gifts etc would be far far safer going to Treefrog's ex. Hence in the meantime my suggestion that perhaps they all be channeled to OC, Stoke who could perhaps in turn pass them all on to Treefrog's ex as and when.

I don't wish to be presumptious in any way as to the obligations of OC nor nescessarily use time they may not have available though, but I just thought this as we are on the OC forum talking about an OC regular who is no doubt going thru sheer hel.

Again, humble thanks to Otacon for assembling audio and taking the audio emails.

I will do anything and help in any way I can to get things sorted - just let me know :)

Any emails will probably get answered quicker if sent to my hotmail account as I check that throughout the day at work whereas I can only check my NTHell mornings and evenings from home

I would advise against this Paul. I dont think the business would be a suitable hub for this, having seen how busy the place gets. Besides, Spie is unlikely to be able to gurantee any time, particulrly on short notice.

Understanding his condition better now, I'm coming round to the audio message idea. I propose going with your suggestion of people emailing MP3's of their messages (to myself probably, I'm close and can easily sort a CD(s) out when ready), that we can get to him ASAP to let him know we're thinking of him. We'll then have a little more time to thing about cards etc, and maybe even replacing those glasses.

The idea of OC helping as a signing and collation post I suggested because we cannot post an alternate address on the forum where it may be publically visible. Unless Freefaller knows Jim's adress and is prepared to liase, that is all we really can do as far as cards and gifts go. Any staff volunteer's to help ?

It is one thing to pass a card around an office and have a whiparound traditionally, but this is a little different. So there is a need for organization and co-operation here so no messages get left unsent, no gifts or cards fail to arrive at the right place and that no one is dissapointed.

The Essex meet plan sounds really great and again I can assure you Jim will be more than happy and honoured to know so many people are thinking about him and missing him.

Lets just be careful and make sure we know what we are doing here that's all. I and Paul (R24/LA420) are more than happy just to fall into line and help where we can. The visit may or may not be required to help facilitate things.

I have no problem receiving gifts and I can either ask Conor for an address to forward them to or I can talke them up when I go and visit (which will be as soon as I get the all clear from the family and when Mic isn't working)

If I'm going to be forwarding things on I would appreciate costs at my end being covered too.

Edit: as TF isn't likely to be able to actually had any of these cards of gifts or whatever for quite a while, I do think it would be sensible to put that idea on *** backburner for the time being and focus on the MP3/audio gift

Shameless bumping of thread in effect>

10-4 there Takhisis. I cannot even begin to think of how Conor and Tabatha are handling this. It truly sucks :(

I am also more than happy to volunteer to deliver audio package/s to Jim in the meantime or as a backup (I'm in Telford, but I see Paul (R24/LA420) a lot as he is a good friend as is Jim). I can be pretty flexible as to when etc as I am self employed working at home. Just say the word (moxpaints<no spam>@gmail<no spam>.com if we get stuck at all and should you need me (I've said this to Paul also).

I noted Freefaller's edit at the start post so I'll shut up and pull for our Jim.

Totally agree :)

ATTENTION SLACKERS
Some of you that said you'd be emailing me messages have not yet done so, sort it out :D

If it helps anyone without recording facilities, I can easily abuse the IPT system at work to get messages lerft on my voicemail into mp3 format.

I've not been posting for long so don't know Treefrog but he must be a great bloke due to the amount of peeps that have said so many nice things and want to do something for him.

I would be happy to put some money in the kitty when the time comes.

Get well soon Treefrog

I might take you up on that offer, if people give me an idea what to say :D

Thining what to say took me a while! I had to restart the recording several times because I didn't know what you say.

If you want me to do this for you, drop me an email (address in trust) and I'll give you my mobile number. Lemme know when you're going to call (so that I let the call go to voicemail) and I'll email you the outcome. I can trim the recording, so don't worry if you mess up - no need to hang up and start again.
