Hmm. Do you think that is why im having problems, or should it still work ok? I will probably wait it out till tomorrow now and see what new memory does.
Whoop!
Come on then chiefs, explain to me. Is it worth using the strap thingy, or am i better off just using the turbo and leaving well alone?
Also is it worth trying to get my Sammy greens at 2400Mhz or should i focus on the tried and tested 2133mhz CL9?
Replied - Be vary of which you get![]()
Just an FYI
I have the 3930K, Sabertooth motherboard and 4x4Gb Samsung Green that can run @ 2333MHz @ 1.55v 10,11,11,21,1T with TRFC 96 and tuned second + thirds
I can't see why the samsung greens don't work with your RIVE, unless the board is bust or BIOS not right.
Me either tbh. I will try the new memory and if i still have problems then well, it must be the board.
Indeed.
See if this helps with any configuration within screenshots

I am jealous, I was after this 3 cards 290 unlocked to 290X
Now I'm running my 3970X with this beast: SUPER ULTRA GPU while I wait to get new cards![]()
seemed to good a deal to pass up on, saved trying to find a third card the same
Those are what my settings look like at stock. As soon as i put two sticks or more in the red slots though i get problems. I can put all four in the right slots and can boot into windows at 1600mhz. Put them in order to red slots though and no go, even with all voltages raised.
Sorry Matt, this is getting a bit TLDR so sorry if you've already done this.
Have you tested every red DIMM with a single stick of RAM and booted ok and run something little for a minute to load it? Just to rule out a failed DIMM?
Also, have you tested each stick individually to rule out any damage done to them?
If so, then i recon it's either:
A) IMC of the chip has an issue.
B) Motherboard compatibility, try older BIOS?
No problems with IMC of the CPU
Here is one I did earlier as they say on Blue Peter.

Fair shout mate. Ok one stick of ram testing at a time
Red slot A1 - Pass
Red slot B2 - Fail Q code 53 =Memory initialization error. Invalid memory type or incompatible
Red slot C3 - Pass
Red slot D4 - Fail Q code 53 =Memory initialization error. Invalid memory type or incompatible
Could it be a dodgy board? Maybe i should just get a new one and rma this one.

Try re-seating but looks like a boned board. 1 Stick should work in any DIMM, you only need specific DIMMS for more than 1 stick.
Two sticks of mem in slot A1 and slot C3 - pass. Adding any more = fail. What does it all mean lol.
Setting up an RMA. Hopefully i can get them to ship a new board first.
Try your quad kit when it arrives tomorrow and if that fails it is the board.
