Tri-Fire AMD Brethren

I've caught the tri fire bug too :(

Hold on a minute Mr Clovis. Didn't you only get crossfire two days ago? Lol, you don't hang about do you.

I hope your cpu/motherboard/psu and case can take the third card. :D

Are you on reference or AIB?

Lol :D the CF option fell through, so I was left with just one, so I ordered two an hour ago :D

Got 3 tri-x OC now :)

May need to update my case and motherboard :D but it's all worth it :D

Nice one.

Pretty sure you'll need a new case and some static pressure fans. Keep me updated with how you get on, use this thread.

I have a carbide 540, no side intakes.

So putting in a third card makes the second blue slot go x8? That's a shame.

Sb is limited to 16 lanes pci-e2 on the cpu. Ivy is limited to 16 lanes pcie-3.
Your motherboard has a plx chip, but will it allow 3 cards on the sb?

I don't understand why the PLX chip suddenly can't handle X16 x16 when you add a third card in that uses the cpu pci-e lane. I guess at 1440P the difference will be small, even so something percents matter Lol.

Water water water. More water and other watery stuff.

Plus some water.

Don't worry about the difficulty, it's easy. If something breaks then RMA it. And quick disconnects aren't a necessity though might be useful. I was fine without even though I drained it about 5 times.
Follow the sticky guide on the watercooling thread and you'll have 0 problems unless your HDD dies or mobo stops posting (grrrr).

Also you're insane.

Ta, interested as my z68 ud3 is starting to die, was looking at z77 options using my 2600k

You're in the right thread for it. I may have to start a Tri-Fire owners club.

EDIT

I suppose this could be that thread if a Don will edit the title.

That's how it's cut. Or else you'd have paid more for it :)

You won't notice it

The day the OP goes water cooling I'll eat his AMD cap.
