To get 300-500kph you gotta run routes. On all maps there are routes for grabbing over 300kph just need to learn them. Youtube is a good place for learning routes if you have no one in game to teach you. Is your pathfinder armour and nitrons fully upgraded as these will both add to your speed.

On another note seen this today.

Thanks for the tip. I'm just learning however I realised that my nitrons are not fully upgraded. My armor is however. I'm currently using egocentric and reach.

Yea its a long learning curve but if you want any help in game hit one of us up. Dunno if i got you added or not? Whats the name?

Most people for chasing and capping run the below loadout.

Pathfinder
  1. Light Disc/Bolt/Dualing Disc. Really not a lot in it but as a long time tribes player im used to the disc so have recently changed from light disc to dualing disc. If your still trying to master the disc then stick to the light as you need to be more accurate with dualing disc.
  2. Light Assault Rifle. Really important weapon for chasing and handy for defending yourself when capping.
  3. Nitrons. Not tested the new ones but i think there mainly going to be aimed at chasers.
  4. Reach and egocentric. I still feel these are the best perks to run in pathfinder whatever your doing but this may change for chasing depending how rage and lightweight end up.

Just try get all of the above fully upgraded and your good to go.

Anyway to increase performance? It seems weird that im struggling on medium graphics but can handle BF3 on almost max. This game is hardly ground breaking graphics wise.

good teamworks earlier trocluigi, too bad we had nub teams. Would have stayed on longer but people kept using the phone so i kept getting disconnected.

Also I don't think the compact nitrons are worth taking. Although you can carry one more, the decreased knockback means they don't propell you as far when you're trying to build speed.

What resolution are you running? I used to have a overclocked 6850 and it ran it maxed out at 1920/1200 but that was with a i5 @ stock. Then it had dips into the low 30's probably. Drivers seemed to make quite a difference. You running latest?

Yea we could have done with another guy and all been on mumble to get the passing abit smoother. Also we had no one returning our flag which didnt help.

I have mumble now so if you let me know which server i can get on next time, although like i said, can't get my mic to work but can hear.

Thanks for the tips! When I have time I'll check you tube out to start learning the different skiing routes however I would imagine that it will take months/years to master them.

One more noob question if I may. Is there anyway to prevent the flag getting knocked out of my hand when using nitrons to propel myself?

EDIT: Explosive nitron claims to do this.

EDIT: But are explosive nitron better?

You cant nitron if your holding the flag. Cappers will use all 3 nitrons plus normally a disc jump before grabbing the flag. The idea is you get up to 300kph+ before you grab with a route then carry the speed once grabbed back to your flag.

Some good examples that most cappers will use. Grabbing from the front like a lot of n00bs do means you will just die and not get home so once your more familiar with maps try learn some side to side or back to front routes. Maybe just pick one to start with and try learn it in training or public servers. Or message one of us when were on and you can just follow us on them.

You want a big knock back when capping to propel you forward so the new nitrons are probably only really suited to chasing. Even then though you will probably want to use them with the lightweight perk which is a very difficult to use.

Found this one which I thought had a nice summary. I think there was atleast one route per map which shouldn't take too long to master:

kiwi did i play with you earlier? I think you were in same game as me.

Think so, I would have been the PF at the bottom of my team haha. Managed to get a cica 220km grab last night however so I must be doing something right.

I also noticed that you can use the light disk to propel yourself while carrying the flag :D

Samsung: Have been trying those routes and starting to get there however I'm finding that I can't make the same jump distance. I guess it's just about practice.

I had one other question for you guys. I find if I'm doing well on a route I always get beaten to the emermy flag so it just feels like a waste. I noticed that allot of caper actually wait on the corner of the map and as soon as the flag becomes available then do a short run however when I tried this I found it difficult to build up as much speed....

Yea you can disc jump with all the Pathfinders main weapons. Most of those videos are best case scenario so if you don't get the take off or nitron just right you will fall short. Have you got the thrust pack yet?

Yea that's a problem in public games. Either a good capper will grab before you cus there faster or some n00b will do a rubbish grab and die within 5 seconds. In competitive matches there will only be you and another capper who will work together so that's not a problem there. Forget sitting waiting for the flag like you have seen people. Your easily spotted and as you say you won't have the speed so a decent chaser or sniper will shut you down before you know it.

You on tonight? Maybe a few of us can meet up for a mess around.

I certainly have the thurst pack however after watching the videos and trying to replicate the massive jumps that they are doing I find it better to have energy - probably because my energy/ski control is not as good as it should be.

I should be on tonight - what servers do you play on?
