Q: Why 106? Why change from 90? Why not 120?
A: I use 106 based on the old standard of a 90 degree horizontal FOV being the "norm" for 4:3 aspect ratios. With 106 it shows pretty much everything one would see with 90 @ 4:3, except extending your FOV left and right, thus limiting the potentially dissorienting fisheye effect: Example. Basically it all comes down to user preference. Lower FOV can give you better accuracy at the cost of environmental awareness, and vice versa with higher FOV.

That's because you're on Llama Island, which is where all the new players go until you're rank 6, then you join the big boys.
A few more new guys and we can run a newbie class.
