Servers were a little quiet for me. Still had over 10 per team though.

I use Amsterdam servers even though I live near London.
tribes 1 was bad compared to tribes 2. i watched the i series live feed a couple of weeks ago and it was a live duel of probably good players on what i recall as a **** poor engine. good game eh? that should have been tribes. tribes 2 should have been the point where real e sports kicked off. now we are back to meh again. same ****head people who don't have a clue.
edit : mind you you were always an arena player so dueling comes naturally to you. MEH

I was always an arena player? I dunno who you think i am but ive played ctf LT religiously for over 8 years.
Some of the guys in Tao, Boss and legion all come from the T1 mod that i did so please don't talk to me about people who have no clue.
Do you think you know me or have played against me before because i have no clue who you are apart from what ive seen here. T1 is the original and the best imo but times change and so does peoples expectations of games. T1 had its problems yes but it was an old game that with the players pushed fps forward.

Those days of true hardcore PC shooters are gone, Tribes Ascend is as close as we are going to get to a skill based and competitive FPS game.
Tournaments are happening with cash prizes, leagues are picking it up, the player base is growing and HiRez are listening to the community.
All these are good for the game.

I hav been really enjoying tribes ascend, the only thing I struggle with is the business model...I really hate free to play / pay to win.
Any suggestions of what unlocks I should focus on? Is the assault rifle for the pathfinder any good?

I'm pretty sure he's been banned 3 times because of this thread anyway.
I wouldn't class this a pay to win since you can earn everything in the game bar skins currently by playing, so far most of the items are side grades although some come in rather buffed than they should.
Why do you always come back to troll this thread? We already know you dislike the game.
i want this game to be good. unlike you.
I wouldn't call it pay to win, as previously mentioned most weapons are side grades, very few true upgrades exist.
The only proper upgrades I can think of is the Falcon, Spinfusor disc grenades and Jackal, the rest are situational.
In my opinion it already is good. Easily the best fast skill based shooter out currently.
