My High Res folder is 4.3GB total. a lot of people moan its pay to play but really you can get on fine to start with in soldier. Its nubs who wanna play different roles and own with them that find it hard. Just try pick a role and get good with it and forget unlocking stuff you dont really need. I bought a Gold pack in the beta and have done a few times since but tbh I love the game and am happy to drop alittle money in it from time to time considering the enjoyment i get from it.

As ive said 95% of the time i just use pathfinder and spinfusor which I can pretty much control either flag defence or offence in pubs. You will go into newbie servers to start with anyway so you can pick up the basics and try get some skills under your belt before moving up to the higher level players. 60% of players on the higher level servers have no idea what they should be doing and just camp at the generators. Once most players get to about level 20 they seem to have grasped a understanding what CTF is.

I'm a pretty competent FPS'er, I just wanted to make sure it's not too dependent on you spending money. Download done in 5 mins will give it a whirl before bed,

Where do you change gfx options? Default res is so bad I cant even see my mouse and click on stuff.

Cant even log in, because I cant accept the EULA or anything as I don't have a mouse.

Google suggests corrupt download, so I'm going to bed and will have to deal with it after work! Looks good though, looking forward to trying it.

If you suspect a corrupt download:

- Load the launcher
- Click on the cogs (top right)
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics
- Validate and Repair

This will sort your game out if it is indeed corrupt.

If that doesn't work you'll probably have to edit the tribes.ini file to change the resolution manually.

Yea that's the same as what Jim suggested. Once your on let us know your game name and we can show you the ropes abit. I don't think its the easiest game if you have never had any tribes experience but once you get the hang of it its pretty rewarding.

anyone want to help show me the ropes, I've only just got a decent monitor to play any games (I bought the pc for this and planetside 2) and am struggling A LOT. what's the best way to "get into" the game and learn?

32 i think. Comp games are normally 7v7 or 8v8.

I wouldn't expect much from me but I do know not to camp the generator which makes me better than most people from what I've heard.
