It also depends on the server/match you're on. Sometimes it'll be a good day and there wont be lama grabbers messing up your grabs, other days you'll spend your entire match floating in midfield trying to rectify their **** grabs and returning your flag. In those matches you'll end up with a **** score, but if you've returned the flag 10 times, you've still played one of the most important roles on your team.

Also got my best score yet, last night, as Raider. Having the Jammer Pack is just awesome. Half the time, enemy players will look directly at you and either think you're on their team or not even see you because there's no red marker over your head. The amount of times I've been on low health and it's saved me, skiing over the peak of a hill and using the jammer pack, only for them to follow and wonder where the hell I've gone, because they're just scanning the screen for a red marker, when I'm actually standing right in front of them :D. Also the fact turrets don't target you is invaluable.

We will just jump on public servers. If I see you on I will join your server.

Nice score dief. You not miss the shield pack? I really suck at raider. Just can't get to grips with the weapons and style of play. I normally have a break from pathfinder every few maps by sniping which I'm not good at but enjoy it. Been saving up for the phase rifle which I might be able to afford by the end of tonight.

The problem with llama grabbers is you gotta start somewhere and practice the role to improve but most of them are not running a route or been in pathfinder. Yesterday a guy called silent witness was trying to cap against me in jug which made my life nice and easy chasing. I would much rather him llama the flag that I can easily return than path grab at 250kph+.

I think the jammer pack is far superior tbh. The shield pack only soaks up 600 damage I think it is? and quickly soaks up energy too when you take damage, so can really only be used for one purpose, escaping from smg spray at long distances. The jammer allows you to wreak total havok in bases though, totally undisturbed by turret fire and as I mentioned, half the time people don't even challenge you. Did take me a while to get used to the arx buster though. At first I thought "wtf is this rubbish", but after a little practice, it's a great weapon. Half way to unlocking plasma gun too which will no doubt be fun :D I haven't tried Sentry yet, but it's not a class that particularly interests me. I think if you're good at skiing and using the terrain, then you are probably better utilised as someone in the field.

I know that newbs have to learn and I don't really mind light lama grabbers that are trying a route, albeit an inefficient or slow one, but it's when you get the heavies or the mediums who are standing on the flag stand, that just grab and start skiiing away at a snails pace. Gives me serious rage lol. However, like you said, when they're on the opposite team, i couldn't care less :p

btw what other classes are good fun? I was planning on trying Brute out when I've got my Raider built.

Oddly enough I was using scraider last night too and had a similar experience. It's like being invisible :) Whiteouts also help, and they're pretty much better all round than EMP grenades now.

My server had a team with 3 sentinels on it :| I was using juggernaut/infiltrator until the map switched to crossfire. 3 sentinels on top of the ship, 3 drop jammers. I managed to get 2 of the snipers and drop some grenades on the flag stand before they realised I wasn't on their team lol.

I might actually unlock the plasma gun and cluster nades at this rate.

Roaming Doombringer with chain cannon, titan launcher, grenades and basically any perks that aren't super-heavy (I was using quick draw) is fun too. It was surprisingly effective at chasing.

I'm in the same position - I love path but it doesn't do much for my score. Would you suggest Raider instead of Soldier for both chasing and offense disruptive play?

Sometimes there are just far to many paths and it really doesn't help so I would like to maybe choose one other class. I also find it silly how paths are not given allot of credit for actually capturing and returing the flag. I think there should be flag return and capture counters which are visible on the scoreboard. I do however like it how you don't see deaths though. CTF is obv not about KDR....

I really dont like the heavy classes as I find them utterly boring.

Raider isn't great for chasing, although if a flag carrier is near you at some point, you can chop him down with the smg. Your best role as rdr though is keeping the enemy chasing you and distracted around their base - generally reeking havoc :p if you last long enough, you'll usually get 3-4 of them angry and ganging up on you which takes their attention away from where it should be. You can also clear the flagstand for your PTHs. Soldier is probably better for chasing though as you have a large energy pool, the assault rifles, suited grenades and the thumper/spinfusor.

Raider sounds like fun lol. I actually quite enjoy TDM from time to time I'm guessing that Path is probably better for chasing so perhaps there is not allot of point in unlocking/spending cash on that class for me.

The only class that really has a chance chasing a fast capper is another pathfinder. As diefic says raiders role is enemy base destruction and causing havoc as your capper comes in for a grab.

OCUK Mumble.

Will be on from about 6.30 onwards.

I'm on. Speak to you soon.

I loved the high speed pass we made on Arx Novena which totally threw off the chasers :p I'll get a new mic, I've actually got the creative fatality headset+mic so you'd have thought it be fine, but a google reveals plenty of people not being able to get the mic to work. Totally miffed about that.

Yea shame after passing the hill killed my speed. Had a really nice pass with doctor on raindance which resulted in him capping. Its one thing I really want to improve on.

I'll get a mic asap and we can practice our passes. I just love how chasers are left completely confused as to where the flag has just gone and by the time they realise, the receiver is long gone :p

It seems the EU community has switched over to the Spinfusor mumble, PUG/Pickup games are happening there now for people interested.

#tamixed, #tamixed.pro, #tamixed.fr and most EU teams, all reside in this mumble.

Server: spinfusor.org
Port: 64738
pass: commune

I wouldn't mind a pug tonight if your up for it. Can just mess about in pubs till one starts.

After I left I cam back on later and had a few games with Jim who also seems to know what he is doing :D After practising some of the routes you showed me I managed to get a 280kph grab in which I was rather proud of.

Think I'm going to start exploring the raider class today :)
