Tried to heel toe,,,,it went wrong.

I personally disagree with you there - lets imagine you were approaching a set of lights on red on a long straight dual carraigeway. I could charge up to the red lights in 5th or I could lift off and gently decelerate as I approach the lights. As soon as 5th is no longer an appropriate gear to accelerate back up to my previous speed, I'd change down to 4th and continue to slow down - if the lights change before I get to the line then I am in the correct gear to gently accelerate back up to the required speed. Or would you be there rumbling along in 5th at 10mph and then block change down to 2nd?
 
Don't blip when you shift up. It's counter productive.

When you shift down, you need to speed the engine up to the same speed required for the new gear hence you blip the throttle.
When you shift up, you actually need the engine revs to be lower for the new gear. By blipping the throttle you actually are increasing the difference which is why you find it jerky!

I only blip on up shift when I want to knock the knickers off some hoes at the bus stop.
 
i H&T just for smoothness and coolness really :) but i don't do it like in the video. I use my front right foot/toe on the accelerator and the middle/left foot on the brake

Dr Who knows what he is talking about, his posts make mechanical sense.

There is really no need to use it on the road unless you're practising for high speed driving, again not best to do on road really.

Rev matching is great for the engine so you should always do that. Heel and toe is for rev matching during braking which really is not needed for road driving.


Double clutching is a useless technique for modern day cars unless you have a non synchronised gearbox. It actually makes shifting slower.
