"Triple A" games you wasted money on.

Yup tried default clocks and all. It was a CTD with some error message, not a hard lock, blue screen etc.

Seemed to be a small number of players encountering the same crashes as me. The game crashed so often, even more than batman arkham knight :p :o

Something up with your PC. ROTTR never crashed on mine, or Batman. I never overclock. Forza Horizon 3 has started to crash a couple of times since the last patch, well maybe not now if a new patch has been released as haven't played it since yesterday morning.

Possibly... but there were quite a few posting the exact same issues as me, I linked to multiple threads in the official thread, seemed to be a game where it ran great for most but a small minority where it just wouldn't play ball at all.

Batman only crashed for me 2-3 times, that was good considering the majority of others were crashing every 5 minutes :p

Were these all Radeon cards? or AMD chips? I'm thinking most games now concentrate on nvidia and intel, until Direct X 12 is properly used.

Nope, also nvidia cards, in fact, it seemed to be more nvidia users than AMD users :p These links are more for the performance side of things than crashes, did have a post in that thread showing all the crash threads but can't find it

I haven't had any issues with any other games on my system, all have ran as they should.

I've added a budget game here too which are vastly highly rated imo. Just wondered how much money I've wasted based on hype(a lot in this forum), reviews etc.

Sim City(Latest One)
Alien Isolation
Metal Gear Solid V(I might give this a good go again in 3440x1440)
Bioshock
Bioshock Infinite
Dishonoured
Company of Heroes 1/2
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided/Deus Ex: HR
Dying Light
Farcry 3/4
Hitman series
Project Cars
Total War series
Sleeping Dogs
All Lego games
Super Meatball
Project Cars
Every Assassins Creed except 2/3
Every Call of Duty except Ghosts.
Every Battlefield except 4
Titanfall
Star Wars: Battlefront
Total War series(no RTS since Dune 2 has appealed to me)
Starcraft 2
Diable 3
Max Payne 3
Homeworld Remastered Collection
Her Story
The Banner Saga

I must have wasted at least £300, which surprises me, I thought it would be a lot more. Anyone care to share their room 101 games? Obviously many of you will disagree with my list, but I'm interested to know what games you have wasted money on based on rubbish reviews or hype?

It's easy to disagree with some on there, what's odd though is you've put money into series such as CoD where you've only liked one of them? Maybe stop spending money on them? :p

It was a white lie. I didn't play any CoD since black ops 2(which i didn't like) until Ghost. Advanced Warfare really ****ed me off, especially performance. I will probably finish that one day as the acting is amazing and my card can play the cut scenes properly. I don't play online competitive, which doesn't help.

AAA titles? None that I can think of. I usually always wait for user reviews before buying and often wait for a price drop instead of paying £40. Doom was the only AAA title I have bought in a long time I'll never replay as all it has is fun gameplay that gets boring after a few hours. I think I got it for £20 at launch, so can't really complain as I got a couple of days out of it.

Indie games are a different story, probably most of the 350 games in my library are crappy indie games that will never be played. Most were cheap as chips in humble bundles though.

Metal gear 5 worst over hyped over reviewed pile of repetitive crap I've ever played.

Then of more recent mafia 3, I knew it wouldn't be a patch on mafia 1 but wasn't expecting the abomination it was on release.

proud to say I've not wasted money on triple A for a long time, used to pirate them a bit but haven't bothered with that for years. I buy the occasional one like GTA or Battlefield but wouldn't say I've regretted those or wasted money.

Biggest regret was a game called firefall, they call it triple A and they did spend 125 milion developing it but it turned out to be a complete joke. great idea and amazing in so many ways but handled by the most incompetent devs I've ever seen.

That's basically every major release for the last 10 years, which begs the question.. why do you do it?

Shocking lack of discipline and intelligence in this thread.

I never by on release (Wait for patches and price to go down). I read lots of opinions before buying a game and in the end only buy the very best games that I know I will enjoy. Probably only end up buying 3-4 games per year.
