"Triple A" games you wasted money on.

Rome Total war 2 and Watchdogs.

GTA 5 was a bit of an odd one, brought it but could not get into it for like a year, only recently having forced myself to play for a few hours through the initial stages now do I love it.

I'm surprised some people have so many on their list. I feel a lot of people focus on what is missing, wrong or what they are not. Rather than focusing on what they are, games are art and never going to be 100% what you want or expect but you should appreciate them.

That said....

X Rebirth!

watchdogs
Farcry 4
Mass effect 1 & 2 (for some reason I thought I'd enjoy the second better. must have been drunk or something)
Gave up on assassins creed after the second one.
just cause 2
prototype was shocking not sure if that's AAA mind, did have a fair bit of hype mind.

recently, rise of the tomb raider, assassins creed syndicate, rainbow 6 siege.

and more i imagine. see a good cd key price, take a punt, play once or twice and never again

I simply think that too many mediocre games are being labelled "Classics" by some review sites also, as some other people have mentioned some of the games on my list.
Nobody is incorrectly labeling anything here. You simply have a differing opinion, often to the large majority it seems. That does not make these games mediocre, it simply means people like different things in games than you do.

Awfully silly that you're trying to use a few other people naming some of the games you did as any confirmation of these games being 'objectively' mediocre or reviewers getting it wrong or something. You can always say, "I didn't like 'x' game, anybody else with me?" and get some responses. No game appeals to absolutely everybody.

I think you need to understand how subjectivity works a bit better.

Anno 2250 (all previous ones far superior)
Arma 3
Batman Arkam City & Asylum (was bundle)
Fallout NV (even if on Fallout 3 have clocked 500 hours)
C&C Tiberian Twilight (haven't even finished mission 3 after all those years)
Gal Civ 3 (Stellaris is far superior)
Far Cry 3
Metro 2033
Project Cars (too simulator for my taste)

Alien Isolation
Metal Gear Solid V
Dying Light
Farcry 4
Hitman series
Every Assassins Creed except Syndicate
Titanfall
Max Payne 3
The Evil Within

I now buy games a few months after release, when the hype has subsided and the game is either patched or I know enough not to waste my money. The latest Deus Ex is currently in quarantine and I'm not sure I'll ever see it unless it goes for under a tenner on Steam.

I'm looking forward to Dishonored 2 but Bethesda have an abysmal track record, so that one will be in quarantine for a wee while too.

Rome 2 was awful on release and for quite a few months after, but it did end up a good game in the end so I don't feel too miffed about buying it.
