Tuniq Tower 120 - My installation with pictures

Yeah I've seen people install the Tuniq Tower facing all sorts of directions. I personally am confused as to which way is correct, without having ever owned one myself.

I guess it largely depends on allowing the fan to move the hot air out to the back of the case.

Yours is wrong, the fan would be blowing into the case unless you intended that way. The fan can be taken off very easily though without taking the entire heatsink off.

If I lick my finger & put it by my ran I can feel air being pulled into the CPU cooler so it must be the right way round, even though it is the opposite way around to the op

You need to add 15 deg to core temp and 10 to real temp.

Since when? Realtemp is meant to be the msot accurate software temp program there is presently.

+10 means that my quad at 3.6 with a true 120 and 2 noctua fans in push pull is hitting around 85c load? Id doubt that. That would mean when i had it watercooled it was hitting 72c instead of 62c.

You sure you're not talking about +10 or so for speedfan?

As far as I know when I was reading about all this tj max and realtemp/coretemp etc business back when I was overclocking, Realtemp is the correct one.

The guy who made it used a heat diode gun (looks like one of those speed guns that the police use) to measure the temperature at which the CPU would throttle and even went as far as to run the CPU's without fans. There are some pictures on the web somewhere.

Im happy with my tuniq although it is just so awkward to install - I absolutely hate those thumb screws, can never tell if its on right. Does the job though. Sometimes after installing it you will hear a rattling sound, if you do, make sure the fan is securely fastened as it can vibrate on the metal.

Need to put a new CPU in soon so will have to do it all again. Not looking forward to it really :(

Real temp 'is' accurate, as long as you set the correct TJmax.
At default, Realtemp's TJ is 90, this shows my idle temps as 20,17,17,17 which is below my room temp (19 deg according to the probe on my controller).
Now on the calibration page on the Realtemps site, it says that your idle temps should be 6-7 deg above ambient with high end water/air.
If i add 10 deg or set the TJ to 100, then my idle temp are 30,27,27,27, which is about right.
