I think the Integra is the best of all of the Type R's, looks good, goes good and drives good but your silly Porsche comments show you to be little more than an ignoramus as you wish to turn your ill informed bias into informed and erudite comment when in simple terms its utter garbage. I've had a TVR, it was so far away from the 911 in virtually all areas it's not even worthy of comparison in all reality and my mate has arguably the quickest TVR in the country yet I'd still take my GT3 over it today and every day but then I don't own a Honda...though I do have a ricer but one that hairdressers drive sadly.

Allow me to explain why I hate VTEC.
This is entirely based on the Civic Type R - EP3 and whatever the current one is as these are the only VTEC powered cars I've driven. Oh except for an Accord millions of years ago but that wasnt proper VTEC.
Below about 4-5k rpm, the engine delivers the sort of response you'd expect from a 1.8 Focus. Above 4-5k rpm, the engine delivers the sort of response you'd expect from a hot hatchback. Infact, its pretty quick, and sounds brilliant above 4-5krpm.
So far so good right? I mean whats not to like there? Well for me it sounds good, in theory, but is annoying in reality.
Effectively it means if you want performance you must thrash the living daylights out of it. Now, when its you, a sunny day and just the B3892 in front of you, this is of course completely brilliant and the Type R is amazing fun.
But under normal use, it basically means unless you are driving around as if your trousers are on fire making old ladies tut at you, you have the performance of a humdrum run of the mill hatch. There is no instant response. You need to drop several gears and nail it, whereupon it will reward you both with great performance and... an ASBO, probably.
Give me a larger capacity engine please, more flexibility. I admire the engineering side of VTEC, its a great acheivement, but outside of a race track or your favourite B road, it annoyed me.
I want performance all the time, not just when I'm doing 7000rpm.
You must live in the middle of nowhere, because you just can't drive fast everywhere.

There is driving fast and there is wanting access to performance. What if you want to go for a gap? etc etc. There are loads of reasons why people would want performance, and performance in the Type R was to me at least accessibly only when I was really hammering it to the redline. And when I did, the performance was great, but it just didnt suit my driving style.
Sometimes its nice to just brush the throttle and gain the speed you want rather than have to work the car hard.
Yep, i think id be going home in one of those instead of a 911 thanks. Grinning to myself when i rev the nuts off it to 8000rpm and listening to the awesome noise it makes, and never get bored of everyone looking at it in cus it's rare as rocking horse ****.

It's plenty quick enough to overtake mate, whatever the revs. Or just change gear using the awesome box.

That red NSX is just pure awesome, though thef ront bumper is a bit iffy.
