Turbos

You were going so well till then.

His was a stupid post, so he got a stupid reply.

Sub 100K? what are you smoking Jonny? Doy uo mean the NSX-R. Well seeing as there is like 3 in the whole country i think, it's not surprising they cost so much, it's the importing. Shame Honda never sold them here.

A 3.2 NSX can be had for 25k easily.

Smokey please make sure you dont insult people or swear because I think you are amazing and I look forward to having loads of internet arguments with you in the future.

PS: The NSX is rubbish

[I like driving hard, Porches are crap, but I'd have a GTR]
The thing is, whilst the GTR is an awesome car, it struggles doing the hard stuff for any length of time.

A friend of mine took his to the 'ring, and managed something like a 7:35 lap, but went on to have to spend an hour nursing it up and down the road trying to cool it down.

Something like a 996 GT2 (which could be had for ~50k I'm sure) wouldn't be as quick for that first lap, but it'll do it all day long.

Then,

How the hell does the NSX fail to walk the walk mike? Your right, your Focus would beat it.

You should read my posts, I said it walks the walk but fails to talk the talk. Ie. it performs, but just doesn't look the part IMO.

You're wrong, My Focus is irrelevant in this discussion, but if you want to start willy waving - the even rarer 28 year old hot hatch in my garage is at least as fast as your DC5 in a straight line, and is very likely faster on track.

Then the closer,

I forgot it's torque that gets you down the road though. So why doesn't a turbo diesel smoke my ass?

Oh, I almost forgot, as for why Diesels aren't faster than your car, even though it is torque that takes you up the road, the answer is very, very simple.

BHP is a product of torque because HP = torque * RPM / 5252. Now with that equation, it is easy to establish that they are not faster because you have more revs (y0).

Now, go get a clue before you provide your retort.

That'll be £50.

Yes the NA2 NSX-R. After looking about a bit it's the only one I'd truly be happy with, otherwise you need to take the final drive of your normal spec down 25% as the gears are to long.

Don't even start on me' either I'm just here with the popcorn. :D

Then you need to drive it properly.

ie not at 40mph in a 60 zone along 15 miles of cool backroads until eventually you get overtaken by a 2 litre diesel saloon :p

:(

I've said it time and again. You'd drive conservatively if you had to put 300 odd angry horses to the road through a kickdown happy gearbox with no nanny state driving aids ;).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a decent 25k 911 is hardly going to be a spring chicken?

And? It's a Honda. it will still be running when me and you are dead.:D

Lies? Ive posted you tube videos, etc ive certanly come up with more than everyone on my back has.

It's been fun though has it not?:p

Thanks DiamondMark.

Oh so you've upped the limiter by 5 mph? Or Is that the actual top speed, because it's no where near what Audi rated it at.:D

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=133&t=544410&mid=46840&nmt=VMax Typhoon Speeds

The difference between someone with experience of running his car at an ACTUAL 160mph (4 times on the same day on the limiter) and some spod from the internet who reads and Audi brochure and thinks he knows it all. As I said before, you're ignorant and showing it with each and every post you make...

Nonsense, you'd probably get 150BHP if you dyno'd that old donkey.. Sorted your turbo seals yet? I want a fiver from you for a new cabin filter... I could wring it out and top my car up with it after following you down the motorway.

Not many people want to drive a 15 year old Honda.

I downgraded it by 5 years after looking for some for sale.

And plenty of people want to drive 15 year old Porsches (look at the values of 993s!!!).

Age or Brand doesn't necessarily make something crap.

Go-Go gadget smoke screen ;).

Anyway, At least It's wasn't as bad as Princey's Astra :o.

And it would still be better to drive than your average German barge.:D

Well done Mike. You owned me with your replies. Congrats. Your mate with a GTR? Is his name Dave? Everyone has a mate called Dave.

Ok so i mis-read your post on the one.

And you still think torque gets you down the road? LOL.

So whats your mystery car in the garage. Surprise me.
