:p

I always thought it looked pretty awesome tbh!
Very purposeful!
But by no means good looking :)

Well it would have taken a minor miracle to bring the McLaren up to the front of the field within 3-4 races last year it was that bad, there were so many more teams in front of them and Ferrari, shame they didn't have the resources to catch up.

I cant believe the time difference was that different to what it has been at some points this year (admittedly Red Bull have been reigned back technically as well which helps)

but either way - they left it quite a bit longer than 3-4 races last season, more like 7/8 - and even then they only started winning quite near the end of the season (and Ferrari completely gave up)

The biggest diff imo is that (on some tracks anyway) there are three teams/cars at the front challanging for pole majority of hte time, where as at some points last season it was only 1 - but at best two .....until MUCH later in the season

Alonso must be over the moon!

So few decent drives going that it looks like Kubica and anyone else that comes along half decent will be locked out for years. Shame there isn't more decent teams to go around.

I don't get why people are saying this as if to suggest the team are biased towards Schumacher at the moment. Ofcourse I know all the history of Schumi in F1 teams getting all the parts and so on but Rosberg has said himself he wanted the car to be changed like this!
It just happened that the first race with the new car Rosberg didn't beat Schumi and suddenly its all "New car for Schumi that Rosberg didn't want" :/

People are saying as they are unable to think clearly and to understand the situation.

The correct statement should be that Mercedes are developing a car that they, MSC and Nico think is an improvement and benefits both drivers styles.

Some people seem not to be able to understand though. Funny.

I don't follow. Why would Hamilton asking, make the situation pathetic?

In fact why would the entire situation surrounding team orders be pathetic?

You do realise that team orders have been in play ever since F1 began? The only different now is that you cannot openly admit to the use of team orders.

As long as outfits are operating as a TEAM, it is impossible to prevent team orders in F1 (or indeed any sport).

I agree with this.

One has to remember that F1 is a team sport first and foremost. The drivers championship is just a side show and largely irrelevant. Teams win money based on their constructors points and race positions. This also dictates where they are placed in the pit lane and so on..

The drivers championship does nothing internally for the team.. Its only useful to help get a few sponsors.

We certainly do understand this.

The fact remains that after the changes/upgrades were made, MS appears to have surpassed Rosberg.

Before the changes were made, Rosberg was consistently outperforming MS. In fact he did this in pretty much every race before the "upgrades" were introduced.

Now the above situation could be a one heck of a coincidence. But I doubt it.

MS is a master at getting his entire team to support his cause and it is no surprise that with time, his status within the team is climbing.

No surprise? Early on in the season you had wrote hi off after getting a few poundings from his team mate. The scenario thats now being played out is exactly as I said would happen. MS was driving a car designed around button and rubens, as soon as he got his own way he would beat rosberg, even though in reality for a driver missing for 3 years he wasn't actually doing that badly.

Now all of a sudden this of no surprise to you?

Its no surprise that as MS has climbed, so has Rosberg stature gone down.
Its also no surprise that with time MS is gradually coming to terms.

What remains open to question is whether he will be able to compete with with the front runners (Rosberg is not in the same class as Alonso or Hamilton and these are the guys MS will have to beat).

At MS's peak, even in a car which was slower than his rivals, he had an inate ability to put together points totals which would compete and sometimes beat his rivals (in better cars).

I still contend that his return can only damage his reputation and he should've stayed retired, if only to let the current generation have a go.

I also maintain that it is no surprise that his stature within the team is climbing as he rallies the entire team around him. Whether this is good for Mercedes is open to debate.

Just because he is on terms with his team-mate (currently), doesnt mean MS "is back".
