Turtwig, Piplup or Chimchar?

Gah, reading this thread makes me want to pick up a DS and Pokémon Diamond now.

Red/Blue, Gold/Silver and Sapphire/Ruby were so awesome. I got the FireRed version for GBA but it crashed and wiped my save at the end of the Viridian forest, just as I levelled all my Pokémon up to lv10 :(

Im just on my way to lake acuity.

Ive spent so much time/effort keeping the levels of my squad about the same (30-34), that in terms of Gym battles, trainer battles, ect; im lagging behind, im often finding that im fighting opponents of Levels 38+.
Obviously theres a limit to the how many battles in the game against trainers/gym leaders i can do to gain good amounts of experiance points, but is there another quick way of doing it, because running round bushes fighting hundreds of little pokemon isnt fun for a few experiance points. :p

Thanks.

I just caught Dialga!
Didnt want to fight it as i was in a real bad shape, so i lobbed the master ball that Cyrax gives you and caught it! :p.
Worth having in my team?

masterball is 100% catch rate so it ll catch anything without failed, I personally caught it with an ultra ball when it was weak and saved the masterball for legendaries that runs from battles.

Dialga is quite good so yea its worth having it.

Run from battles?
I still have 2 masterballs that i got in some trades to use yet.
The last Gym is annoying me, cant work out the puzzle to get to the leader! :( :p.

I used the Duskball to catch Giratina, infact I used duskball to catch every legendary that doesnt run from battle as they are always in a cave. I would save the masterball for Cresselia, one of the best 'wall' in diamond/pearl, as she runs from battle as soon as its a chance. Without the masterball you will have to rely on a fast pokemon with a sleep move to stop it from running, or some ability which stops pokemon from fleeing. Cresselia also doesnt have a fix spawn point and she will move around the map everytime you move so its quite hard to track her down in the first place.

mcc49 can i just ask a quick qu. before gym 8 u can go to a cave in the middle of a pond near where you start the gane. there are like 3 "pokemons" in there, they chat and then dissapear and randomly appear on your radar thingy.

i am just incapable as i seem to remember spending WAYY too long trying to get close enough for an encoiunter without the ping dissapearing? each time i fly to get close it seems to move further away etc... am i missing a trick here?

Thats what I meant by the running away pokemon from my last post, the wild pokemon will move to another location after moving around for so many steps but only to an adjacent route and flying will make the pokemon appear at another random location.

The trick I used to to fly to a random town and keep flying to the same town till the pokemon is near the town and simply run around the adjacent routes till the pokemon moves there, once there go to your nearest grass patch or water patch and run around till it appears. This is the easy part if you dont have the masterball tho as the first thing it will try to do is run if you dont quickly disable it with either sleep or freeze or any skills that stops pokemon from running like mean look and shadow tag.

I am guessing the pokemon you are trying to catch is Mespritt (typo?) as I had a tough time locating it also. If you do have the masterball tho I would save it for another running pokemon named Cresselia later in the game as she is much better.

yea mespritt sounds about right! rgrgr ill just have a good go in a while, i just want to get that done with before i continue onto the next gym you know. then hopefully i want to tarde from my sapphire game for world 0wn3r$h1p.

heh

hi can anyone do me a favour and do some trading with me tonight? i need to do a trade back on Kadabra and Graveller to get them to evolve.

i can return the favour or give you a Noctowl, or HootHoot!

If your not in any rush, i might be able to trade tomorrow evening with you?

Do the other legendries appear after ive done the elite four?
Victory road is annoying me, as i keep having to go back to get my HM Pokemon. :p.

Im trying to get all my team at Level 45 or above for the Elite four (Diaglias already at Level 50). Would those levels be about right for the Elite four, or will i need them stronger?

Is there a Pokemon Center after Victory Road? And whats the national dex? Is there more to the game after the elite four?

I had a quick go and got to the Pokemon league, just fought 'your mate', and he's pretty hard, if it wasnt for Dialgia, i would have gotten whipped!

What team should i go in with to face the Elite4?
Am i fighting them all in a row, or do i get a 'break' between fights?
My good level (40+) pokemon are as follows:

Caught Wild:
Level 46: Medicham (Force Palm, Hi Jump Kick, Psych Up, Power Trick).
Level 47: Golbat (Air Cutter, Mean Look, Poison Fang, Haze).
Level 46: Kadabra (Role Play, Phychic, Future Sight, Trick).
Level 47: Steelix (Dragon Breath, Iron Tail, Crunch, Double Edge)

In Party/Main Pokemon:
Level 44: Gyrados (Surf, Hydro Pump, Ice Fang, Dragon Rage).
Level 44: Luxray (Tackle, Strength, Shockwave, Crunch).
Level 44: Pupitar (Bite, Crunch, Rock Slide, Rock Smash).
Level 44: Infernape (Cut, Fury Swipes, Hidden Power, Ember).
Level 45: Staraptor (Close Combat, Fly, Quick Attack, Aerial Ace).
Level 50: Dialga (Metal Claw, Dragon Claw, Ancient Power, Roar Of Time).

I could really do with finding some good TMs for Infernape & Luxray, as both of their type moves, Fire & Electric, arnt all that good.:(

And how do i know if something ive put up for trade has been traded?
I put up L.43 Steelix for an 'any level' Sheildon.

Thanks. :).

The highest lvl poke in the elite 4 is lvl 66 I think so make sure your team's lvl is high enough but even if you get whipped you still gain the exp so no harm trying. The elite 4 uses bug, rock/ground, fire and psychic so you might want to prepare your team for it.

You will know when the GTS trade is complete when you log onto wifi, it checks whether your pokemon has been traded and automatically updates your game.

Not if the Pokemon 'faint' i dont. :(

So im thinking:
Gyrados (against rock/ground/fire).
Staraptor (against bug).
And im not sure against Psychic, as most types have strong attacks against them. Its just defense wise.

Im tempted to keep the team that i work with how it is, but somehow i think that that Steelix i have could be more useful than Pupitar. Only problem is that Pupitar could be losing out on some valuable experiance points.

Went to GTS but found that no-one had traded yet. :(.

mcc49 - is it possible to see all the pokemon naturally before you beat the elite 4? im desperate to get the National Pokedex to import some pokemons i got lying around to create a "team" that i can use to take on the elite 4 and develop from there.

i think ive seen 129 pokemon (not seen dialga yet) so obviously a few short...

edit; boom - i think you need to toughen your squad, do some EV training and stuff. i just got my 8th badge and have a lvl 60 Chimchar, and a few others around lvl 40-50~.

Also, i think we should battle, fed of up mcc giving me a whpping lol.

EV Training?
Are all your Pokemon balanced though? As all of mine are about the same level, rarther than having 1-2 that are significantely higher than the rest.

I managed to get to the final Elite4 person, but got beat by the 3rd Pokemon in.
Ive just swapped my Infernape for a Steelix, and seeing how i go now, before work. :p.

Sure.
Dunno when i'll have time, because im back at work, but keep an eye on this thread and i'll see when im free. :).

EV training, Effort Values that you obtain to effectively "shape" your pkmons battle stats each time you level up. long read but essentially, you can boost stats such as ATTK, SP ATTK, DEF etc by fighting certain types of pkm that give points in these area's which add up and then allow you to "stat train" to become strong in certain areas...

i have lvl 60 Infernape, Lvl 53 Torterra, and some other lvl 40~ Azumarill etc i really want to get my Raichu in from pkm firered etc and a few others too thats why i need pal park, to bring back all my pkms!
