You boys need to mind your own business next time, in reality you don’t know if I’m legal or not so keep your assumptions to yourselves. Keep your awful banter too lol.

What’s your plan? Call anyone out who posts on here for not paying their license?

Wasn’t going to post again but you both need putting straight

Shush, we're trying to cuddle over here.

Seriously though, you asked a question, you were found out and now you're whinging about it. You have nothing to worry about with the letter or visit given that in your own words, you're not watching illegally.

So why the question, then?

They've sent you a letter, so why is this any more complicated than letting them come around and see that you're not watching live TV? What are you worried about?
As this thread has shown time and time again it is far more complicated then that.

Do you guys want my bank details for next time you’re forking out to the BBC hahaha maybe you can donate to me too

I think you've missed the general tone of the thread. People aren't paying the licence fee because they don't need one.

ceaton88 has plenty money, must have a gucci belt, corner sofa, 100" 8K tv, top notch pc and a 2 million pound 10 bedroom castle. Rolling in it aiiii

Not that I need to justify myself to anyone on the net but you two seem persistent for some reason, all I asked was what the general consensus was of receiving such a letter and was hoping to get other peoples experiences. Its a forum after all, go hug a rulebook or something
@ceaton88 Its best to ignore the nasty posters like MissCheif and others. They don't care about other people. There is no simple answer as a lot of it depends on luck and location of where you live. Sometimes its as simple as just telling them you don't need a license. Sometimes the worst thing you can do it communicate and tell them you don't need a license. They like to target certain groups of people and if you fall into that group they will do what ever they can do get money out of you. By informing them you don't need a license and giving your name you are only making the situation worse. If you are outside of the groups they target then most of the time telling them you don't need a license works. But there is an element of randomness to how they will treat you.

The letters them selves are meaningless. They will get more and more threatening if you ignore them, then cycle back to the start and loop. Some of the letters falsely make it sound like you are a criminal to scare you into paying. They hope to catch people out and to get more commission. You can safely ignore the letters. Though if you keep the letters, tell them to stop and they do not. You can take them to court and use the letters as evidence against them. A lot of people have had to do that due to real harassment problems form them.

Pay it if you're required to, don't if you're not. Risk it if you think you can get away with it, but prepare to be caught out. It's pretty straightforward
As this thread shows that is completely not true. If it is so straight forward why do so many people have such massive problems with them?

Because they don't want to pay it and get all emotional when they get caught out. Granted, there are exceptions that are unacceptable (e.g. peering through windows) but they are just that; exceptions.

I tried to ignore @Basher but he didn't like that, thirsty for attention and likes to pat himself on the back for following the rules like a good boy.

Thanks for your post

To be fair, you're following the rules just as much as I am :)

You're right though, I am thirsty for attention, and you @-ing me gave me a little buzz.

Thank you.

You shouldn't have to tell them every year. I don't have to tell the local supermarket when I don't want to buy anything from them.

Which as i said amounts to harassment and interferes with the enjoyment of my home because the next goon who calls is getting the hose at best or a nose at worst. Either way involves police, I hate my front garden because you never know if or when yet you said to me a personal injury claim is nonsense so what exactly do you suggest to stop this as it stresses me out and makes me incredibly angry.

I am still sending the letters anyways, Giving them a warning to stop all contact or face harassment charges and a breach of human rights that says interfering with the enjoyent of ones home. Also @ceaton88 i suggest you invite them in for tea, And fill the pot with a near fatal dose of the most powerful laxative and maybe some LSD so when they leaves they trip the next 24hrs splattered in thier own feces.
