I haven't watched any live TV for at least 2 years and it'll stay that way.
Pretty much everyone I know doesn't either, and like myself have cancelled their TV tax.
Personally I got tired of the constant agenda, bias and being told I'm a racist or some sort of "phobe" because I don't always agree with the utter s*** that is being broadcast.

He did? Oh well, I'd best give him a Lol too as I wouldn't want to accused of being rude.
Well the graph clearly shows a dying interest in live TV as I'm sure you'd ascertain if you asked around your peers.

The Brexit comparison is just embarrassing but seems you are on some sort of crusade so keep doing you!

Again, it's not about pleasing everyone. You can't push boundaries by appealing to what you think the majority of viewers will like.

How many people wanted to see the Iranian leader giving a broadcast opposite the Queen at Christmas?

It's a prime example of far left oppositional agitation i.e. if they perceive people on the right like something then they will purposely do something that they think will annoy them.

I bet hardly anyone actually watched that stunt.

I hope whoever buys the channel makes programmes that people want to watch. C4 wasn't always like this. They produced some good shows in the early days, and turn out a few good ones here and there today.

even if true, isn't that the paradigm of social media edgy content (the algorithm)
C4 used to make better content yes (skins/utopia/brookside...), but, just like other channels did.
Had to laugh at RTD coming down on the side of c4 saying other companies wouldn't have made It's a sin ... ergh that's netflixs woke bread and butter

I don't watch live tv but a tv licence isn't just related to live tv right? Can someone clarify if I watch iplayer to watch a show that aired previously I need a tv licence?

You do.

BBC iPlayer and the TV Licence

You must be covered by a TV Licence to download or watch BBC programmes on BBC iPlayer – live, catch up or on demand. This applies to any device and provider you use.

Love how when you're declaring you don't need a TV licence that they try and trick you with some of the questions on the website.

It's very similar questions but they do a switcharoo
No, no, yes , no. Didn't notice it until the 3rd attempt after getting spamed with "you still need a TV licence" message at the end.

Hah still remember nipping onto the BBC website to check the footie results and the first article I notice was one telling me I shouldn't be dressing boys in blue or girls in pink.

Yeah I try and a avoid giving them any traffic these days.

Sounds like you really showed them. :p

On a slightly more serious note, it's not very healthy to avoid media content that you don't agree with.

... and stayhide in the safety of your non-challenging facebook community

All this adamant haven't watched live tv discourse - do wonder if they are rehearsing that for their statement in front of the judge -

but conversely maybe the government should remove the (explicit) license fee, so that those people who really do find their personal truth on facebook/web from resources from which they are manifestly unable to determine the verity, can access, other facts
... somewhat like legalising drugs, it might be better for the rest of us/the economy. (to wit covid misinformation too)

Not a bad suggestion to be fair, but unfortunately it would also lock access to those who can't afford it.

What is Dirks big chip on his shoulder? It's as if he's either one of these people who chap on your door or is there a political thing I don't see about supporting the TV tax?
If you don't watch the TV any more and obtain your viewing content by other means why give the BBC your money?
