Why would I need a TV licence to watch football or TV for that matter in a pub or my friends/families house. Whats the confusionI think you need to explain your logic for your post first.

Well if you look at the post I replied to originally then you would know why I posted my replyYou wouldnt. Why ask the question if you already knew?
TBH that isnt even an answer to that question.Well if you look at the post I replied to originally then you would know why I posted my reply
You don't watch any of the live football you post about at home?
The answer is no but you still didn't answer the question I asked.Do I need a TV licence to watch football at my friends house or the pub?
It means live broadcast content i.e. if a channel decides to make their content available on YouTube in real-time.how does watching stuff on youtube count?! do they mean via a smart TV? cos if i watch, eg, the live Depp court streams on my PC via the internet i don't see how the BBC get a cut of that?
that didn't help :-/There's a lot of confusion in this thread about what live means in terms of the TV license - it doesn't mean literally "happening now", it means live broadcast content.
They are nothing more than door to door salesmen, treat them as you would a gyspy selling lucky heather.what exactly do these home visits entail? do they just turn up and see if they detect signals?
Key word is broadcast I guess - TV license only covers what you would watch on a TV channel on your TV!that didn't help :-/
It must be a broadcast television programme.that didn't help :-/
no it isn't. you may not think it is worth it and therefore choose not to use it in which case that is your callIt's just a tax on stupid people.
Well there is one situation where the answer is yes. If your friend doesnt have a license and you are using a mobile phone or tablet to watch live football its ok to use your own TV license at his house just as long as you don't do something really wild like plug your phone/tablet in to charge at his house. Then your breaking the law.Well if you look at the post I replied to originally then you would know why I posted my reply
It's daft isn't it, wonder what happens of you used s generator to power a laptop or tv.Well there is one situation where the answer is yes.
