Why haven't they gone to the police...? No where does it mention that the police are involved.

BBC should not of posted this and instead should be taking legal action if they have a name.

I don't think it's fair at all of this speculation as it has great potential to ruin many innocent people here with no evidence whatsoever.

It's been all over the media - don't even need to have a twitter account - listening to radio news is much more efficient to find out what is happening in the world.

Has the BBC verify organization, verified accusation - top payed folks are mostly these radio DJ's - so apart from the stupid I'm not Spartacus contingent -
(is rylan clark payed enough to afford this - why does he think he might be suspect) just have to see who is off air tomorrow.

The word on the street is the bbc is going to be releasing a statement in the next few days. The person of interest is supposed to be making a statement at some point too.

Take it with a grain of salt.

the sense of entitlement and indignation by the committee reviewing bbc Huw behaviour - it's like a pantomime

wonder how credible GenZ(Mcdonalds customers) will find bbc reasearch into sexual abuse - will they walk.

Tide has turned

Yeh, broadcast/scheduled TV will almost definitely go the way of the dodo eventually. High speed internet everywhere will make it pointless.

I hope the BBC have a well thought out plan to counter this once no one pays the license fee anymore....

They will need to increase their streaming services. Some paid, some free IMO.

It's the way it's going to go further and deeper into the mixed content world.

I didn't think people listened to the radio any more.

I'm betting on council tax increase.
Dreading it. It will likely be 100-150 a year extra.

Apparently we have a visit on 10th of August! I hope they come so i can mock.

Sticking it on council tax won't be a popular move, especially now. There would be even more dislike of the BBC and councils would be worried more people couldn't pay the council tax.

I think the BBC will try to load in on to ISP fees.

Seems like they don't bother showing up to private residences. Only council and rented property where a landlord can let them in if needed. Private owners can tell them to jog on and that's final.

I'm not sure this will happen - (I hope not anyway).

The people who don't have a TV licence isn't watching live TV so how are they going to force everyone to pay it if they don't watch it and how will they prove it?

I hope not. But the other option is to let it fail. I'm not sure if that's palatable.
I support it failing, as its a dinosaur. And if it's failing it's because it's not fit for purpose anymore.

I'd say there's still a lot more people who watch it. If they are going to do it they need to do. It soon. It would be popular if they could get cost to say 120 a year because the people like us who don't pay get forced to pay.

Thus for most it's a net win.

What might happen (a Labour type thing) it scales with CT band. So even more popular maybe. With band A paying 100ppm and band E paying 180 etc.

That's a net save for most people.
