Had a couple of those. The fact it still says legal occupier means its still just spam, they don't know who they are chasing. Can't take any action against just an address.

The way they are trying to help themselves to people watching Netflix, YouTube etc is crazy. Why do they think they have a right to ask people to pay them for something they have nothing to do with...

I had a large pile of tv licensing letters. Posted them all back the other day.

Now I need to build another pile so I can post them all back to them.

It reminds me of the old line rental for broadband. They did away with that in the end but if you don't watch their services you shouldn't be obliged to pay anything and it needs changing big time!

They can't simply add it to Netflix etc. What happens if you sub to YouTube and Netflix?

Or will the law (or whatever it is) be changed to include Streaming? Will Netflix etc have to report to the BBC?

I still think it'll be bundled into CT or broadband. It's the only way to make it nearly inescapable.. Which is clearly the goal.

The BBC wants that, but no one else does. Do I think whoever does it will be commiting political suicide.

Streaming live broadcasts has always counted as needing a licence even if its on Youtube, Netflix or Amazon. Nothing has changed.

I don't think so. A lot of people pay it. I don't think enough people don't for it to make a difference. The longer they leave it, the more people cancel and the bigger impact it will have though.

Yes, for some illogical reason.

But the chat is about a blanket "you have Netflix = you pay TV licence".
I don't think it will happen. The admin would be horrendous

That's why I hate there adverts. Just yesterday I had a "You need a TV license" advert. The BBC are trying to push that narrative. Its not right.
