TV licence

Just got the bill through in my old housemates name, £140 for the year, but not going to renew as only use the tv really for xbox. Is there anything i need to do? To cover myself? I don’t want to be getting fined or anything
 
Haven't paid the TV Tax for years! Just explain your situation and then ignore them when they start getting all 'heavy' on you.
 
make sure its not a direct debit, or itll come out anyway. I need to claim mine back.

Theyll send you loads of annoying letters, I keep finding them when i go back to my flat, theyr cheeky sods, mailing me saying I havnt got a license when they havnt given me the money back yet.
Just unplug the aerial on tv, or just refuse entry to tv license people if they ever turn up(they wont)? :)

No aerial of any description around the house. That, or destroy the RF connection in your TV to prove it cannot be used to pick up a TV signal. :D
 
so i now have to licence as of today and have so far reoved the ariel cable and chucked it in the shed, i would not allow anyone in the house anyway, buti'm not gonna go out of the way to make myself safe, xbox only for my tv for a while, however i might get temped when the Champions League starts again :)
 
I wouldnt say that was a bad temptation, its not like you watching the champions league isnt making anyone money.. its not like its on BBC?
 
Just moved house and haven't got round to sorting mine yet.....it's strange though, despite what the letters say, the telly works just as well without one ;)
