Similar to Ice Tea's thread. What TV shows are you miffed that got cancelled or you thought ended before it's time was up.

I'll start.

Deadwood: I was really enjoying this and was keen to see were it would go. The movie didn't really do enough to compensate for the lack of another full season.

Mindhunter: This spent two seasons partly setting up future storylines only for David Fincher to pull the plug.

Too many to mention since almost every good scifi show gets cancelled.

Smaller list would be "shows you enjoyed that weren't cancelled"

Dark Matter
Firefly
The Sarah Connor Chronicles
The Dresden Files
Caprica
Forever
Limitless

Pretty much every sci-fi or fantasy show I actually enjoy ends up getting canned. It's at the point where I don't even pick up new shows unless they've guaranteed X amount of seasons or are already finished with a conclusive ending.

Rather than going back in time, some recent-ish streaming platform cancellations that really annoyed me:

Amazon Prime - Paper Girls
HBO - Raised by Wolves
Netflix - Messiah, Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj

rp2000

Taboo was never officially cancelled, but I’m wondering if we’ll ever see it again

It's supposed to be written and filming beginning next year.

Santa Clarita Diet, Netflix did it dirty cancelling it after the cliffhanger it ended on.

Final Space
Space Force
Cowboy Bebop
Santa Clarita Diet
White Collar
Start Up
Jericho
Friends From College
Daybreak
Jean-Claude van Johnson

Probably in that order but if I could only bring one of them back it would be Final Space.

Santa Clarita was a real shame as it had consistently good ratings and the actors chemistry was brilliant. Just suffered from Netflix’s third season cancellation policy/habit.

Stargate Universe
Lie To Me

I don’t think SG:U ever truely recovered from it’s terrible first season. Though season 2 did pick up and seemed to find it’s grove towards the end.

Lie to me though, I thought ran it’s course. I enjoyed it but I like that it’s quite short and didn’t turn in to a run of the mill case of the week procedural.
Dark Matter

Yup, most recent that annoyed me. Especially as they canned it to finish Killjoys, which while fun, was a much worse show. There’s a post in the Dark Matter thread that links to the writer (or director maybe) explaining how it was all going to end so at least that’s some closure.

The OA.

The bloody cliffhanger made the cancellation painful.

I still can’t make my mind up on if I actually enjoyed the OA or just kept watching to see if ever fully made sense :D

Ah Reaper was so good.

One that I was enjoying and thought could have become really good was Moonlight. I still have season 1 on DVD somewhere.

Rome.

But I then went back to rewatch it thinking i'm in for a treat and ooh dear it has not aged well at all. It was fantastic at the time, but I think what looked pretty cheaply made back then (and it did) looks really Sci-Fi channel now. It was immediately very jarring, I think I only lasted half an hour.

Four Feather Falls, Supercar, Stingray, really enjoyed these when I was a youngster, all cancelled 60 odd years ago, give or take, criminal!
