TV shows you were enjoying that got cancelled

Were lots of these cancelled or just went on long enough to end anyway......

Thread rules for me dictate only shows that were cancelled should be listed, not ones that naturally ended or were end of life. So for example Penny Dreadful reached the end of that story and so finished. As such doesn't count as being cancelled. Travellers likewise finished the story in season 3.

Are the first three seasons worth watching in isolation you think?
A few threads would be unanswered that would compel further watching, which is no bad thing. Seasons 4 and 5 aren't terrible, just not as good as earlier seasons and still a lot better than most other Netflix shows.

The first two seasons are one complete story arc based on the BBC mini series. There maybe a few loose ends that I can't remember from that far back. But you can happily watch four seasons and miss the last one out.

Sorry to be that guy, but there are 6 seasons - you're absolutely right though, miss the last one out.

I just glanced at IMDB, many episodes rated up in the 9.5 range early on, even season 5 is mostly rated 8+/10 per episode, then season 6, nothing rated over 4.7 and the final episode...a staggering 2.6.

Few shows fall off that bad at the end but Spacey absolutely carried this show, albeit with a great supporting cast.

Spacey's finest moments no doubt. His little monologues to the camera were superb and something a bit different. Great show, although not seen the last season and doubt I'll bother.

Utopia on C4

It was closed off but could have gone a bit further.
Came in to post this - best TV I've seen in years. Instead of a season 3 we got the astonishingly bad US remake :(

Also, Colony - alright it started to meander a bit in the last season but I REALLY wanted to know the backstory of the alien invasion, what the aliens were etc. The Half life 2 vibes might have made me give it more credit than it deserved.

Had totally forgotten about this, but also really wanted to see more of the back story.

stargate Universe aka destiny
Though there was potential here sadly didn't get the chance.

Journey Man
Being a quantum leap fan I liked this one.

True Calling
was just getting interesting now there was basically an anti version of her undoing what she was trying to prevent.

Eli Stone - one of my guilty favourites :)
Boss - I thought Kelsey Grammar was fantastic in this, such a shame it was cancelled.

"Defying Gravity". https://m.imdb.com/title/tt1319690/
I thought it was really interesting, if a little slow. Thankfully, after trying to get it going again and failing, the writer published his entire synopsis for the 5 year arch because he felt the fans deserved it. I really respected that.
