ABSOLUTELY

My daughters mate was having problems and asked me for advice because she hadn't got a Dad of her own.
I rang the police at 2am on Boxing night (26th/27th) and they came round at 9 am in the morning.
They told me they have special stalking teams now and take it very seriously.
I stayed for the interview and they went to see him.
He stopped the filthy texts but he kept going with his mates to the place where she served behind the bar and kept staring at her making her uneasy.

I said we could call the Police again (which they told us to do) but I would give him the chance to stop.
I went down one evening and approached the table with all his mates sitting round.
I then asked their advice as a Father what they would do to a bloke who was sending texts like the ones I showed them on the phone?
They all sat their gobsmacked and said they would kill the bloke or physically maim him.
I then said "Well the next time you are playing 5 a side please bare that in my mind because your mate (pointing at him) is the bloke who is sending those texts. The Police have already spoke to him but he now sits opposite her staring. I have done it this way because I want to give him a second chance before the Police are called again".
I honestly thought they were going to kill him.
 
Every day for 2 years and she has not seeked police assistance or anything like that? She either loves the attention or is giving him enough bait to keep going. If you think she just lies down and takes it then please do pull the other one.

The first time I had a big split up with a girl and she decided to end it I did not conduct myself very well and tried to get in touch with her a lot, not to that excess and there's no way he would keep going for so long without fuel.

This happened to me but worse with my ex.
Change her number and report the guy to the police. The police will need evidence of some of the texts if they are threatening or what not.
If there is enough evidence he will basically get a restraining order and then an informal warning, then a formal warning and after that he could be arrested. This is he he gets in contact with her again directly or using a 3rd party.

I've no doubt the OP is exaggerating with his 80 texts a day but if you think people don't put up with crap for 2 years you are very mistaken.
There are 1000s of men & women putting up with stuff like this for way longer than 2 years and unless you are in their shoes you will never know why.
My daughters mate lasted 9 months before she finally plucked up the courage to do something about her text stalker.
For 9 months she was petrified he would hurt/rape her but she finally gave up caring about her own safety to get rid.
This incident was 2 Christmas's ago and she still lives in fear of him looking here, there & everywhere when she goes out but he hasn't made contact since his warning.
You are all very foolish if you think people don't put up with this stuff for years.
 
I call lies, a girl keeping the same number for 2 years with 80 texts being sent to her every day?

It's either lies or total BS altogeather.

All she would have to do is phone her mobile network and they would see the texts and change her number for free and then you go the police.

Or she aint done anything because shes a hoe and loves the attention :p

Im sorry but text harrament is an easy fix with changing your number. Inless your talking about real harrasment including the phone, in which case your point is invalid

what if a text said "change your number and i'll come hunt you down and kill you", easy fix? easy way to get yourself killed imo.

As dmpoole said, you can't understand until you're in the position.
 
Borrow her phone and text him back saying:

"hi dis is me i rly dnt no wot 2say i bean finkin bout u loads 4eva n ur so spesh i fink im pregnant wiv sum guys kid cn u txt me bk n we cn sort dis out"

She'll never hear from him again.
