Type-R gets a new engine

just further proof that honda really have lost the plot with the Type-R brand.

gone were the days of lightweight stripped out road racers :(

It does annoy me but you really can't fault Honda, the Type-R brand sells lots of cars.

Agree with Olv though, i'm glad i've still got a proper one.

Agree with him too, If Ford did a focus st-d (haha) few people would care, but a type-r diesel is just wrong, even though my money is on diesel been faster

Type-R is all about the VTEC y0. No VTEC, no go :(

Release an equivalent, but don't use the Type-R brand :(

Type-Rd? A Type-R Diesel....It would be good, but then again. Just doesn't seem right. When would VTEC kick in that? 2k revs? :o

You won't believe the amount of dizzy blondes you get in the FN2. It's a horrifying sight, both the car and the driver. I'd bang most of them however :D

Hopefully this will make the EP3/EK9/DC2/DC5 residuals higher.

The 2.2d engine in the new UK Civic is much better than the UK Type R already :p

Hah, I've driven both the 2.2 Civic and Accord. Smooth and fast, but no Type-R performance.

It's likely to have at least 180bhp and 320lb ft of torque.

Whats this?! LIES I TELL THEE LIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Typical bloody Honda, they finally dish the torque out and its a bloody diesel

Awful awful dilution of brands, made even worse by the fact we dont get the proper type r's over here anyway :( Hopefully some other car manufacturer will realise some people want the stripped out racer and provide it soon enough.
