Out of all the type R's........which is the fastest? obviously Im not including the NSX :p

Accord
Civic (current UK model and EK-9)
Integra (DC-2 and DC-5)

I usually go by what Evo say, and they said that the Accord is "one of the finest front drivers ever". But Im interested in which is the fastest, seeing as they all have similar engines.

My guess is that the Integra DC-5 Type R is the fastest out of all of them, if not then its the Accord.

Anyone else agree?
 
Yep

Although the ATR is highly acclaimed.. the dc2 is generally considered the best for track.

Watch Best Motoring DVD's

They test them against each other... they dont rate the ATR too highly iirc.

My next planned purchase is an ATR :D

I think that the civic is the slowest round the track out of all of them.....iirc :D
 
Nah i'd be surprised if the accord was quicker then the civic.

the civic isn't that much slower than the dc5 and i imagine the accord is a bit of a lardy bugger.
 
Although the JDM CTR is a little different to the UK CTR, its a little shy on power and minus the LSD... its still a fair bit lighter than a ATR.

A JDM CTR is almost exactly the same as the DC5 around a track.

The ATR's weight doesnt help it at all, plus its probably the smoothest Type R available.

The japanese racing drivers who tested these cars on BMI didnt rate the ATR much at all. They reckoned it didnt deserve the Type R badge.
 
Nice one poppy, ive been looking for ages for an ATR owners forum. Never came up on google. Going to see a couple this weekend :D

I trust Evo magazine.....their advice is pretty rock solid.

DC2 is good, but still remember that article Sam posted where the DC2 was beaten by a 172 and FRP :)

I'd say at a total guess

DC5
Civic EP
DC2
Civic EK
ATR

One of the guys who works for my mechanic has an EK Type R and it's lovely ;)
 
Although I had a vid somewhere of a friend in his GTR sandwiched between two DC2 tegs, was only on the long straights he could get past. So I'm a bit stuck as to where to place it in relation to the EP Civic :/

Haven't seen much on the EK model, the one review I did have was a comparison with a DC2, they were talking more road use and said the Integra was lots better, however I reckon on a track it could be a different story.

Long story short, really have no idea :)
 
DC5 will be quicker than them all, I should imagine.

Civic's are quicker than DC2's in a straight line - the lack of LSD on the Civic will be a downfall on the track, espcially on the twister stuff - so it'd be close.

Accord's more powerful but heavier IIRC?


Personally, I'm not sure I could go back to a FWD car without a diff...they make a huge difference.
