u21 england squad racially abused

I think the fines levied to the national bodies are insufficient, and barely distract the local football authorities enough to sort out any respective problems they may have with racial abuse. I heard the Serbs were fined £16,000 following the previous incident with Onouha, which is a pathetic amount.

Rose was equally a *** and didn't help the situation at all. It is time to get tougher and remove these teams from competing when the fans behave like this.

Then again who are we to judge when a large portion of fans in this country do their level best to defend a racist in their team when it suits.

They need to start taking it seriously but I doubt they will unless someone gets killed.

Absolutely. Danny Rose was equally a tool I mean the stone throwing, chair launching, monkey chanting, headbutting that went on is obviously comparable to kicking a ball after being subjected to that for 90 minutes.

I say ban Danny Rose for life for the disgraceful way in which he kicked a ball and mocked a monkey chant.

Capital punishment ?

Way to completely over react.

He should have just left it up to officials and the England team to deal with. They won the game, let everyone else deal with the after effects. Why would you want to whip that bunch up anymore than they already were.

It's nothing new when you travel to this backwards places, yes the governing bodies should do more to stop it but until they do players either have to suck it up or not go. Getting Red cards just plays into these scum bags hands. I'd rather they didn't give them the satisfaction.

The England team were being attacked by fans, players and staff of those idiots, how you can condemn Rose kicking a ball when he was clearly visibly distressed at what had happened I don't know.

You taking the ****?

I think he was referring to Rose kicking the ball at the crowd and to a certain degree he's right as him doing that would help wind up the fans even more (similar to players throwing coins etc. back at the crowd).

How the FA can cry over the racist chants when Ferdinand gets off with a small fine and Terry gets a small ban & fine when they have a chance to really say we aren't putting up with this seems a bit of a **** take to me.

In no way defending Serbia and think the time has come to really set the bar high regarding racism (although Ince's blanket 5 tournement ban is never gonna happen) but the two-faced FA can't really scream too loudly when they have been as leniant as the have with their own punishments.

Booting a ball into the crowd is not the same as throwing a coin back, the ball goes into the crowd at full pelt quite a few times in a game.

Yes agreed but it just winds the fans up even more, gives them a defence of 'he deliberatly kicked the ball at us!'

He shouldn't have risen to the bait (although I agree he must've felt like doing more) as several hundred (if not even more) fans could've really taken it upon themselves to 'sort ' him out for his reaction (which is what the chants were aimed to provoke)

Not really, Rose was getting the abuse ALL game, not just at the final whistle. The poster above was actually comparing what Rose did to what the serbians did.

I don't agree with Ince either but I can understand why he would react like he did, I would too if my son was in the middle of that.

im surprised Rose diddnt kung fu kick the fans tbh. i would have.

There is a limit that a person can take.

no one is completely immune to abuse. we have our limits and i can tell u this. Rose stood his ground far longer then most of us would

FIFA/UEFA don't care. They don't care about racism and they don't care about cheating. All they care about are atrocities such as questioning referee decisions and celebrating with your shirt off.

Yes reading it again the use of the word 'equally' wasn't the right word. It wasn't equal to what they did but he was still a *** as much as anyone else that reacts and gives the agressor exactly what they want.

Not wishing to derail this thread, however, I'm interested who the large portion of fans that have defended a racist in their team are?
