This.
the two-faced FA can't really scream too loudly when they have been as leniant as the have with their own punishments.
Not wishing to derail this thread, however, I'm interested who the large portion of fans that have defended a racist in their team are?
FIFA/UEFA don't care. They don't care about racism and they don't care about cheating. All they care about are atrocities such as questioning referee decisions and celebrating with your shirt off.
And you would have died or started a riot. Giving them exactly what they wanted. More likely you would have kept quiet.
Is it acceptable, no. Giving them the reaction they crave isn't very smart either.
Barton got longer for violent assault, so I guess the FA think racism isn't as bad as giving someone a minor slap up ???
I imagine he means Suarez/Liverpool.
It isn't though. Physically hurting someone is worse than emotionally hurting them in my book. I'd rather be called a 'cracker' than receive a punch in the face wouldn't you?
Both of course are abhorrent but I do think we over-hype racism to more than it is, which is essentially just name calling.
I feel sorry for black players who have to put with that tripe, but I feel just as bad for other players who have to put up with offensive songs about their physical features or wives too.
David Beckham puts up with 90 minutes of entire crowds saying his wife is anorexic and takes it up the **** and very little is said in the media. A player receives a racially motivated slur by one fan (like tthe incident a few months back with the Liverpool player) and it's all over the back pages for weeks with people like Clark Carlise being trotted out to tell everyone else how this one guy reflects society.
To me the differences in reactions should be similar.

Serbian FA denies any forms of racism towards England U21s and says Danny Rose behaved in "inappropriate, unsportsmanlike & vulgar manner"
Why on earth should anyone stand there and be mocked for a prolonged period because of their colour and accept it? He was visibly upset by it all, his action was after the game ended and I don't blame him for letting his feelings known. He took out his frustration on a football, unlike the Serbian fans who took it out on someone because of their skin colour..
Not wihsing to re-open the can of worms but both Evra and the FA report stated Suarez wasn't a racist![]()
The Serbian FA has denied there was any racism towards the England Under-21 team in Tuesday's Euro 2013 play-off.
And officials also blamed England's Danny Rose for clashes at the end of the game through "inappropriate, unsportsmanlike and vulgar" behaviour.
Earlier Rose, 22, had called for Serbia to be "banned", claiming he had been racially abused during the game.
But the Serbian FA said there was a "spirit of fair play on the pitch and in the stands".
The fact their own FA doesn't see the issue should be all the evidence needed to get Serbia banned from international competition.
Serbia under-21 coach Aleksandar Jankovic says his side have nothing to apologise for after ugly scenes marred their meeting with England.
Clashes flared up after Connor Wickham's late strike sent England through to under-21 Euro 2013 finals, while Danny Rose was dismissed for his furious reaction to racist abuse from the crowd in Krusevac.
But Jankovic believes his side have 'nothing to be ashamed of' following the controversial end to the game, insisting the English players should simply be happy they have qualified.
"Apologise for what?" Jankovic asked reporters. "It takes two to have a fight. You should be happy that England qualified. We can discuss that and analyse what happened. Let's talk about football."
Did Danny Rose do anything other than kick a football into the crowd after being racially abused?
