Uber eats hacked

When the order gets ordered to somewhere different though not traceable.

How is it not traceable? Police go the address. Someone answers.

"Did you order takeaway here last night sir?"
"No"
"Well someone did. Would you mind telling us who did then as we have evidence of a takeaway being fraudulently delivered here?"
"Get lost pigs"
"Right, you're under arrest for suspicion of hacking robfosters Uber account"

As for 2fa there is nothing worse IMO. It's a constant pain in the ass having to get sms or other daft code to input it. It means you need your phone with you with the SIM card in. When abroad, as I am a lot often the messages are too slow to come through so the website has already timed out. This was a big problem for me when logging in to one of my bank accounts, and HMRC

:D Scotland yard don't process everyone's UberEats. You can order food to anyone's address and either intercept on the way in (flats) or a place of business. I.e. 'front of Barclays on the high street'.

It's a 'victimless' crime of exceptionally low value. I would be pretty cross if my tax money was funding recovery of a 20 quid maccies order.

Well you have got the above completely wrong for a start.

OP complains to his bank. Who then get in touch with Uber. Who may not really care about the £20 to report it to the police. The above likley takes several weeks to go through the process at best several days.

If they do report to the police. It sits in a pile for 6-9 months before someone gets to it.

Police turn up to flat and the people living there currently moved in 3 weeks ago.

If you seriously think the police turn up to the address within 24 hours that's just lolworthy. Will be 1-2 weeks at best.

By that point they have moved on to their next flat.

How's it not traceable? Think about it. Do you really think they going to investigate something like a takeaway been delivered? Do you know how complex that would be to prove who ordered it or where it was delivered?

"Wasn't me, I haven't ordered anything. Don't know what you talking about."

HMRC has a 2fa app so you don't need a text, and it remembers you for 7 days.

Google the CIA triad and you'll see why it's less of a pain than it could be.

It's not really victimless when you're stealing someone's money.

That you got back in less time than it took to make this thread.

Now have you changed all of your passwords to something different for every website that contains a mixture of cases, symbols and special characters with 2fa switched on? If not, you are part of the problem I'm afraid. You don't leave your doors unlocked do you?

You don’t even need that, HMRC now let you use an app of your choice. Mine is synced with 1Password. No more migration pain and available everywhere where I have 1Password installed.

Why you guys use Uber eats to buy food? I thought everyone just uses it as a menu and then phones up the place to get everything 10 to 20% cheaper anyway?

McDonalds, KFC, Subway etc don't have their own delivery drivers...
for other places i mainly use Foodhub, depends what vouchers i can find but i always look for the cheapest option

I dont really use it much any more. Their fees are getting ridiculous. Just Eat are far better imo. At least round here anyway.

This is what they ordered if anyone's remotely interested

Why have a small drink and medium fries when you're stealing it. Got to go large surely?
