Ubisoft - Thread

I have seen Uplay being bashed all over the internet such as here and on Hotukdeals. My opinion was "people need to calm down, it doesn't seem so bad".

But...

I've been trying to play Splinter Cell Blacklist. I've had one red screen crash and now it insists on installing one patch at a time from 1.01 to 1.02 to 1.03 each time I try to load the game up.

Uplay bashers... I get it now!

I may just give up!

I have been mostly ok with UPlay but it did get moody with Watch Dogs for a while. Ubisoft had a terrible 2014, the only way is up now surely... even if people are already worried about The Division and its co-op focus.

That was my experience too, utterly awful. Not only that, but the installer that Uplay downloaded was corrupt which resulted in various CRC errors on files while it installed, which meant I had to download a (legit) ISO elsewhere, install it all over again and then go through the painful patching process once more.

And to be honest, the game isn't even that great. Instead of delivering a solid, focused single-player campaign there's all sorts of extra side-mission stuff going on, in typical Ubisoft style. They even managed to shoehorn a map into the game that you have to find hidden stuff on. :o
