btw, when I go to justin.tv in firefox it says to download adobe flashplayer. Flash works fine in google chrome.

I installed flash from the software centre but firefox still doesn't work with flash.

yes to a certain extent. There will always be some you cant be they will be the obscure or specialist software

Are you using 32 bit or 64 bit ?

Justin TV works perfectly on my (ubuntu) setup

another problem I have now is videos in "minutube" don't play. I've installed gstreamer codecs.

Install Ubuntu Restricted Extras, that is a bundle of codecs and plugins which are proprietary so they can't be bundled with the OS.

Installed that codec pack, videos still don't start in minitube.

btw, I just did a fresh install of 10.04 64bit and that codec pack was the first thing I installed after minitube.

Yea, I installed adobe flash as soon as I booted in.

minitube doesn't use flash.

EDIT: Just installed minitube on Arch and it's pretty cool!

I read that it doesn't use flash.

I've installed the codecs you said to install but it still won't play videos. It just shows the video description in the video screen.

Is there an official release date yet? I'm eager to try it but i don't really think it's worth making the switch if the full version is out in a week, especially with my internet connection. Mint keeps crashing with Chrome and i think it needs a good format...

they haven't got very far in tracing the bug i have with it, doesn't look like ubuntu is going to be installable for me.

29th I believe - tried to download the beta this morning and downloaded 9.10 by mistake - think I'll just wait now
