Madrid wouldn't survive in the Prem. You are looking at the Champions League as the pinnacle. It really isn't anymore. The Prem is. If it was a league format City or Liverpool would be winning it every year. Cup knockouts always end up with spawny winners.
Madrid only have to turn up 4 times a year in their league and can just rest for Champions League.

The only surprise was that Madrid didn’t have to come from behind to win. You knew Dortmund were doomed when they went in at half time with nothing to show for all those chances they had. As written.
