Don't know, just seems daft having a league and then just some random next round which involves multiple draws to determine them.

I put the top 8 so not the extra game. The chance of facing a bigger team is just as big, this year it worked out the lowest team in the top 8 played the lowest in the 24.

Why the need for multiple draws to determine the knockouts and playoffs? What would actually be wrong with highest seed v lowest all the way through?

Only reason they don't is so they get revenue from having draws most probably

Misread that bit then. This year it worked like that, doesn't mean it will next year.

I quite like the fact you can't pretty much predict how the whole competition will work out from day 1.
 
PSG are a very good side these days.

When they had Messi, Mbappe, Neymar and Di Maria, they could school the French league but any top team is just going to run off those guys and create loads of space.

Now they're a different beast with some work rate to go with.

He was far better than last week to be honest but that wasn't exactly a high bar. Had a couple of decent chances. Another night of Alisson showing why hes the best keeper in the world though. Without him this would have been done and dusted last week and PSG would have stuck a few more in last night.

Liverpool played far better and controlled quite a lot of the game but never really converted that possession/pressure into proper chances. PSG deserved to go through over the two legs. Had more quality in their team and honestly, I would say they worked harder for it as well which is not something you would have said about PSG a couple of years ago.

He wasnt as good as normal but at the end of the day, when the pens began he did his job and put his pen away emphatically, which is more than can be said about anyone else. Sometimes he must look around at the players around him and just think come on guys have I got to do everything
 
Missed a couple of sitters in the 1st 10 minutes, then faded and did nothing - similar to the other attackers. Shows how much slot doesn't rate Chiesa as he didn't get a sniff. Looking forward to see who he brings in during the summer as ultimately bar salah the options aren't good enough in the wide areas.

His penalty wasn't any better than anyone elses. I really hate watching penalties and hearing "oh that was an awful penalty" when the keeper guesses the right way and "brilliant penalty" because he doesn't. Vitinhas penalty wasn't a great penalty but it went in. Salahs penalty wasn't great but the keeper didn't move. Yes there are good and bad penalty takers but in a lot of cases its pot luck unless you genuinely stick it right in the corner with loads of pace.

I've said for a while now that this season will be the end of an era rather than last season. I'd be happy with a top 4 finish next season, I wouldnt be surprised if there was a lot of change this summer, just as an example....if we assume that VVD, Salah, Trent all move on, then assume that Robertson, Nunez, Diaz maybe, Gomez are all sold...maybe Elliott goes on loan, if that happens then the longest serving player at the club will then be Curtis Jones (6 years) and thats assuming that Jones isnt moved on, if he is then the longest serving player at the club will be Jota (5 years). I feel like its going to be a big transitional year next year.
