Trent, Fabs and Elliott forgetting what Klopp told them 25 mins ago. Hate goals like that when the runner is just left free. 3 of them watching him

That is the problem when you have one of the best RB's in the world. He has always generally been fit so hasn't really needed a backup. 3/4 of Liverpool's back 4 has picked itself for the past 3 seasons. It is quite easy for things to get stale when you are a guaranteed starter.
 
Not sure why Trent is getting the blame, three of them, Trent, Elliott and Fabs were all in a line, Trent actually further away, jogging back and let the GS run free from midfield. Trent did actually try to get back unlike Fabs or Elliott
 
Liverpool used to dominate most games so much in the middle of the pitch that most teams barely got a sniff and would get battered if they got too adventurous. VVD was always there to clean up when things went a little wrong and Trent/Robertson worked their asses off to help cover.

Liverpools midfield is now half the unit it was, VVD has fallen off a cliff and Trent/Robertson seem to have lost that desire.

Theres a big rebuild in defence/midfield on the horizon unless Klopp can motivate some of these lot.

That was a prime example. TAA was 6 yards from goal and got a shot in but if the pass had been cut out there Ajax would have had 4-5 players on Liverpools two CBs. So so risky.

Robertson isnt even playing tonight.

They are gassed from last season imo. Our midfield is so important and its been threadbare and will be until after the International break.

As for a rebuild...midfield absolutely.

All gone next summer.
 
We've played pretty well so far and could and should have been a goal or two up. We don't take our chances and the oppo score with their one half chance is just the way things are going for us right now.

He isn't getting the help with players covering when he goes forward, Thiago is doing the job for Tsimikas but Elliott is no help to Trent at all.

Trent was used to Gini or Hendo covering for him loads but we haven't got that currently in midfield.

Agreed but then he needs to adapt or Klopp needs to help him positionally.

This has been a thing ever since the start of the season but we dont have the legs to sort it.
