That's not quite true. They were and are in a battle for a Europa League spot and they're not even secured of getting a Conference League spot. Had they won vs you then they'd be 3 points behind Utd with a game in hand still for that Europa League place, instead of being 3 points ahead of Wolves having played a game more.Moyes should never have played Rice, Bowen or Antonio on Sunday. That match didn’t mean anything to them and they lost it anyway.
They still bought Benteke, Ricky Lambert and Carroll. That was what close to 100 million?I agree we have the best manager in the world but the club had put the foundations in place before his arrival. Our recruitment is 2nd to none and the team behind that was there pre Klopp. The work improving the commercial side of the club was being done pre Klopp, likewise the expansion of the stadium.
As good as Klopp is, without us recruiting the right players and having the funds to recruit the right players, we'd not be nearly the side that we are. And let's remember, every club wanted Klopp but he chose us and one of the reasons why was because of the ownership and structure around him. It's well documented that he turned Utd down because he didn't want to work in a circus or as Ed Woodward put it, Disney land for adults.
And while I agree that replacing Klopp will be a huge challenge, it won't be the same as Utd with Fergie because unlike Utd, we don't have 1 man running the entire football side of the club.
And no, they didn't hire Hodgson. They sacked him months after they arrived.
Liverpool have announced details of tickets for the CL final. In a 80k seater stadium, each finalist will receive just over 19,500 tickets Once Liverpool have dished out tickets to sponsors, players and past shareholders (they're legally obliged for the latter), I doubt there will be much more than 13k going to supporters.
Closer to 70 million, we also got 50 million back for benteke and carrollThey still bought Benteke, Ricky Lambert and Carroll. That was what close to 100 million?
I'm really not sure what your point is. Yes, we have bought some bad players over the years, although Carroll was signed well before we brought the team of eggheads in but our success rate is still well above average. And as has been pointed out, we've not only done very well in buying players but very well when it comes to selling players too. Very few of our mistakes have been total wastes of money because more often than not we've recouped a big chunk of the money back, if not all or even made a profit on them. They still bought Benteke, Ricky Lambert and Carroll.
