UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [6th - 8th September 2022]

This team have very big issues, far bigger than any injuries in midfield.

We're not pressing, we're not keeping the ball, we can't defend and we have no shape.

WTF did they do over the summer? We look like we've never played football before.
 
Gomez just hasnt kicked on in his career, what is he now, 24? He's not top 6 quality CB and lets face it, if Matip or Konate were fit he'd never get a match at CB

The end of last season has ruined them mentally. Went from nearly winning the biggest 2 trophies in football to swinging 2 Mickey Mouse cups around on a bus, pretending to be happy.

Lack of competition for places. Things have gotten very stale and the spine is getting awfully close to needing a rebuild.

Klopp has done extremely well with freshening up the front line but the midfield bar Thiago has been the same for a few years now.

As for VVD a similar thing happened to Rio. Completely fell off a cliff with age. Makes you respect Terry for his longevity as he obviously had a good football brain.
 
Liverpool looking flaky again. So hard to maintain the level with a team season but defensively they look all over the place. I wonder if the loss to RMA in the final is still affecting them?
