UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [7th - 9th November 2023]

It's not a challenge though is it, everyone knows what he's doing, we see it a million times a game. It's just unfortunate, did you think the Jones one was a red?
What has Jones got to do with that?

It may be unfortunate but thats irrelevant, he's endangered his opponent = red.

Penalty lmao

Does it need to be a challenge to be dangerous?

It’s unfortunate indeed but to quote the commentator there. Lack of Intent doesn’t get you off the hook.

Sure, it doesn't need to be a challenge. But i just don't understand how we've got to this position in the game where things like that are given a straight red. A player action which happens hundreds of times per game.

If an attacking player puts a cross into the box and two players clash going for a header, both players go down holding their heads, potential concussion, is it red cards for both players? Clearly not. It's a physical sport, sometimes its messy.
