UEFA Champions League/Europa League 12/13/14 February *** Spoilers ***

Referee seemed heavily biased towards Madrid but other than that a rather forgetful match, RvP looked class on the ball but didn't get it anywhere near enough.

If Welbeck can play like that, why hasn't he done it for the rest of the season? It makes it all the more frustrating if he only bothers turning up for a huge game but then phones it in in the 20 games before it.

Given the option of taking a 1-1 in the first leg in which Madrid edged it possession wise, then I would take it all day long. Defensively, we were ok but were nowhere near as relaxed as Madrid on the ball. We had chances to win the game the same as them.

Would still like to see us put them under a bit of concerted pressure (if we can keep the ball that long) as I don't think Madrid are all that at the back.

Postives - De Gea, Welbeck, Carrick and Jones were all brilliant
Negatives - the league one form of Rooney and Kagawa
The Alright - when RVP did get involved he looked like he can shred the Madrid defence to pieces single handily

1-1 will do, 2-2 would have been even better, Cleverley has to play instead of Kagawa in the second leg

Meh for all that possession that Real had, they could hardly do anything about it. Ronaldo for the great player he is, was totally marked out of the game altho he did score a beautiful header but everytime he had the ball, there were 3-4 Utd players around him. Had Real wised up to that, they could have created chances for their other players. Ozil was running rings around Utd in the first half but 2nd half he just kinda disappeared.
Defensively Real are a complete mess, the amount of times they gave the ball away too easily was shocking. RVP should have scored with his 2 chances but luckily Real survived somehow.

The Borussia and Shaktar game was far more entertaining with 4 goals in all...ended up 2-2 and the weird stat of the night is that the time between both Utd and Real's goal was 10 min...funnily same time gap between the first 2 goals between Borussia and Shaktar.

Personally i think both second legs are going to interesting, luckily for Utd they got the away goal at Real. Still pretty much open for the 2nd leg of Real and Utd and even the Borussia game is evenly poised as well. Have to say i do like Borussia, they play some decent football and could go all the way.
