UEFA Champions League/Europa League 14/15/16 February *** Spoilers ***

Quite easily one of the worst performances from an English teams midfield I've seen in the Champions League. Completely ineffective going forward and unable and unwilling to help with the defensive work.

In two seasons it seems Arsenal's midfield has gone from being good going forward but unwilling to do the dirty stuff/defensive duty, to one which can't do either job

Its hard to tell where the filler stops and the good stuff starts
Barring rvp I just don't see it.

From the team that started tonight I'd be shipping out Rosicky, Walcott, Djourou, Gibbs. Song might become a better defender with the right coaching, but he's a terrible tackler and seems to get booked in every game he plays, seems a bit 'stupid' as well, I don't know why we can't just use him as a creative attacking midfielder instead of a defensive mid when he clearly doesn't fit the role. Koscielny has been decent, Vermaelen is normally good but what a horror show he put on for us this evening.

Zlatan is a such a class player, people call him lazy but hes won 9 titles in 10 season and used skill to work the ball.

How many English players started for Arsenal again this evening? Walcott and Gibbs, and they were both dire. Picking Arsenal as an example is hardly giving a fair representation of the English national side.

I was on about the top 6 teams in country, almost all English team play for.

Incredibly frustrating season, we are such a mess right now, the squad needs to be pruned of all the useless filler, replace them with quality, experience and some more prospects. New tactics, new formation, new defensive coaches, new medical staff...

The whole world (except Wenger) knew this season would be a right off when we sold Clichy, Fabregas and Nasri and it became clear there were NO plans to deal with the losses. Why he thought we could continually get rid of our best players and rely on junk like Theo "I CAN RUN REALLY FAST IN A STRAIGHT LINE" Walcott, Djorou and Rosicky is beyond me.

I don't know if I agree.

Will any of your list happen under Wenger though? I'd like it to, but it won't. How much worse can we get every year? Is RVP loyal enough to stay? Take his goals out and we'd be halfway down the table.

I'm dreading watching the derby at the weekend, Spurs will be rubbing their hands with glee after this.

I'm just not sure which manager we could bring in who has a proven track record and isn't from the Championship or a yoyo team.

With Arsenal's chance at CL success effectively ruined, it's now up the mighty Chelsea to win it for English football. I won't be placing any bets on that happening though. :p

shocking. absolutely shocking.

Now watch arsenal implode and lose fa cup on saturday followed by a loss against spurs and our enxt 3-4 League matches after that, And see us get destroyed against AC Milan in the return leg at the emirates.

Same old Arsenal. Always MESS UP at THIS stage of the season. ALWAYS. under wenger and you wonder why and question why wenger has to go?

Our team is the worse it probably has been since Wenger is in charge! We have been in this position time and time again with a far better squad(think 4 years ago when we became first team to beat AC Milan at the san siro but after that still messed up in the League, FA cup and later rounds of the CL)

Same old crap from Wenger and his players. Wenger needs to go, So does the coaching staff and so does the Board not willing to spend big cash on players(Yea lets by Arteta instead of Hazard. Lets sell fabregas and Nasri and not bother replacing both players.)

Players tonight dont deserve to wear my clubs Shirt. With th exception of henry, rvp and Ox, all and i mean all of the rest were shocking and all should be downright ashamed of themselfes tonight.

Just watch us implode like i said earlier on. We will lose FA CUP and Spurs will humiliate use in our own ground next week.

Watch and see.

And you wonder why people are calling for Wengers head........

I think you'd be fighting relegation without RVP tbh

The Arsenal players looked completely shot of confidence. None of them engaged players , instead they passed way before anyone came near them and never moved the Milan defence. It smacked of fear and a complete lack of ideas. The Ox looked so bloody good because he was the only player who made Milan deal with him instead of trying stupid chips and through balls from the half way line.

PL will be down to 3 CL places sooner rather then later.

No chance, apart from this season which lets face it was a freak the last time an English side failed to qualify for the knock out stages was us in 2004, my point being that almost every single season England has 4 teams still in the competition after Christmas. More chance of Spain losing one of their spots.

Me neither, but how bad do things have to get for something to be done and realistically, could anyone do any worse than Wenger is at the moment in terms of games lost, goals conceded etc?

The only reason it felt like we even bought several players in the transfer window was because of the 8-2 result. If they'd have limped by and lost 3-1 would we have even bought anyone? Debatable, and why did we buy Park anyway lol? He's basically being paid to do nothing and wants to go already. Chamakh wants to go. Vela wants to go. Bendtner wants to go. Arshavin wants to go. Even Walcott is stalling his contract talks. We know why RVP hasn't signed his. The only players that seem to sign extensions are the **** ones!

Very tough run of games on the horizon and this is the time of year when implode we spectacularly, with alarming consistency.

All the while it's the same old shrug of the shoulders, ticket prices go up and the usual maddening end of season fans/board meeting happens where they pretend it's all rosy. It's telling that Hazard is talking about going to Spurs rather than Arsenal. I don't think we have a hope of signing him.

I'm just not sure which manager we could bring in who has a proven track record and isn't from the Championship or a yoyo team.

Which track record you talking about? In the last few years the thing people talk about are poor signnings, no defence and no sign of learning from mistakes.

This is where it starts, EVERY year and people still even after the last game were thinking about nicking 4th. We're usually in 4th with a decent cushion then the FA cup, away CL tie, away home ties, and difficult run of games starts and by early March we've dropped 10 more points in the league, out of 3 competitions and struggling to stay in the top 4 usually, this season we're starting from lower and we'll fall further.

Our run of games, lots of away games and lots of top 8 teams is by far the worst of anyone in the league in the next 4-6 weeks.

We were utterly awful tonight, 3 non creative central midfielders who aren't particularly good defensively.

Had to laugh at all the people banging on about getting our fullbacks back from injury, Gibbs isn't very good and won't stay fit long, Sagna is rubbish as well. Walcott shouldn't be above league one football, and he'll get beaten up so much at that level he'd probably just give up football. Song is crap going forwards, crap defensively.

But thank god, its alright, Djourou's been utterly embarrassed recently with his dire performances, he was subbed for a 12 year old against Utd who looked infinitely better, not just as a right back but a footballer, the basic stuff, passing, running without falling over, knowing when not to randomly foul people in the box, anyway, its all good because we just gave him another new contract till 2015. Another 3 years at a stupid salary that is 10 times higher than a player of his quality deserves.

The team has been ripped to shreds over 7 years of Wenger being crap, 2 players every year for 2 crap players isn't a lot, but after 7 years that's your entire first team and most of your bench replaced with absolute crap.

First year I was worried, the change on and off the pitch was so completely obvious but could have been short term. Second year, no learning, no change, pushing forwards and making things even worse, that was the time to cut their losses and save the team before it was taken to pieces, now, its just far too late.

Rebuilding isn't simple now because, no one, and I mean no one will buy Song, Walcott, Djourou, Gervinho, Santos, Mertesacker, Diaby, Denilson off Arsenal, high wages, not good enough, no one will pay for them nor match their wages even if they were free transfers. When we finally get shot of Wenger we'll still have most of them hanging on for years to come :(

I'm not talking about Wenger, I'm talking about bringing in an experienced manager who makes the right decisions. I would have picked someone like Ancelotti but PSG already took him didn't they.

Just seen Kevin-Prince Boateng's goal

He's scored the two best goals in the competition this season, bet Spurs fans are wondering why he never did that for them :p
