He was but he got injured again almost straight away didn't he, and frankly you can tell from just about every touch, he's a class above anyone you had when he got injured, he's got the same football brain as Scholes and will be a natural replacement for him.
You want to ease him back in and, while Cleverley has been excellent, Scholes is a very very good replacement and Utd have dominated Ajax in this half, different team. He helped get a lead, let the rest build on that.
