UEFA Champions League/Europa League 15/16/17 March *** Spoilers ***

your easily pleased, all he did was control the ball, something which was drummed into me as an 8 year old in primary school football team training.

i still remember the drills, headering, chesting, controlling, kneeing, trapping. we had an amazing janitor/football coach at our primary school, probably better than mourihno.

just because ronaldhino did it, it gets put on youtube. ronaldhino has some amazing skills, this is not one of them, anybody could do that, even pub team players.

£20m is a lot of money for a keeper. IINM, only once has a keeper gone for over £20m. We all know Wenger's views on transfer fees so it will take a big turnaround for Arsenal to pay that much (although there were reports that they bid in the summer). It's far from certain whether Utd can afford to pay £20m on a keeper and even less certain that the Glazers will allow Fergie to spend over the odds on players anymore. And even if Cech isn't the keeper he was, I can't see Chelsea replacing him.

edit: You'd also hope Cecil wasn't stupid enough to not exclude Utd from any clause that may exist. And again, this is all assuming he were to want to leave and was willing to join certain clubs.

You never know with media reports (if they are exaggerated etc etc) but it certainly seems likely that Utd will have to pay about that much for the majority of keepers they are looking at (Neuer and De Gae's club officials have been quoted as saying that kind of figure would be listened to, but not lower) - The Danish No 1 is also meant to be on the list at around 1/2 the price, which is a possibility - and Buffon has also been mentioned but I think thats pretty unlikely.

From the club's point of view, Chelsea and Utd would probably pay that figure (maybe reluctantly lol), and while Arsene is unlikely to spend that kind of figure this one purchase could get them a decent leader in the team as well as a top class gk (killing 2 birds with one stone as it were)

As I said initially its all media speculation at the moment, but I wouldnt be surprised to see at least two gk's move this summer at that kind of price :)

edit - £140m CASH in the bank (from the latest financial results a month ago) would say Utd can definitely afford a player at that price. £100m /annum rolling in commercially - neither of these say where the funds (if at all) are earmarked for of course, but given £200m or so of the debt was paid off recently (and didnt appear anywhere on the recent results), I dont think a single player purchase is going to cause any concern. Of course whether 1) the Glazers allow SAF to spend the reported £100m on new players & 2) whether he actually does it - are completely different thing altogether :)

it going to be hard for spurs to beat real madrid especially if they go behind Real Madrid open the score in 34 of 45 games they played this season winning 32 and drawing just two. I think bale can easily get passed sergio ramos, ramos is a poor defender.

Early reports that Ronaldo wont make the first match - obviously they have other very dangerous forwards / strikers, but if Spurs dont have to worry about their main threat in the away match, thats certainly a blessing

Real Madrid probably play better without Ronaldo, or at least they did the other week, they looked like a team. It was odd.

But if you were a Spurs player, would you say "yay RM are without their top scorer for the 1st leg" - or "oh no RM are going to play more like a team" :D

I suspect it would be the former myself
