***UEFA Champions League/Europa League 2010/11 Matchday 1***

2 possible pen decisions, first one was a stone waller cant believe they thought it was a dive. We're looking lively though.

If it was Chelsea or Arsenal or Barca, then i`d have complained about the lack of spark and attacking football.

It was Rangers, and we are realists. We are under no illusions about the strength of our team or the quality of our league. We cannot go out gung-ho against talented players like Rooney, Valencia etc. We would simply get our arses handed to us.

We did what we had to do, trousered 350k and came away with our pride in tact.

In an ideal world i`d prefer to see us open up against these teams, of course i would, but we simply cannot or we end up on the end of a 5-0 drubbing (Like we did at home last season V Sevilla).

We simply gave a good, honest performance last night and it was up to the home side, with their superstars and many many millions of pounds worth of players to get past Sir Davie Weir & co.

Did i enjoy the game?. I enjoyed the result and my mates and i sat very quiet towards the end dreading a late goal against. We were relieved and very happy at the final whistle. On reflection today, i think did quite enjoy the tactical edge of it watching how we coped with all that Man Utd could hit us with. Almost £100m worth of talent all hoping to play their way in to Fergie's plans, so i`m not buying in to the "it was a reserve Man Utd side" argument.

I think i enjoyed today more than i did last night.
